I have already tried putting the RAM stick in the other slot (a friend of mine with the same system had a similar issue when the RAM turned out to be loose) but to no avail. It also sometimes does boot (I haven't found a pattern to that) but it doesn't take long for it to cut to black again. Lastly I have found that the laptop will often boot after hitting the left half of the keyboard.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much in advance.

Before I go buying parts, I'd like to know how to figure out which particular parts are working, like the screen, the cable connecting the screen and motherboard, and maybe even the motherboard.

I have already tried:

1. Performing a force shutdown (holding the Action Button for 10 seconds).

2. Attempting to update multiple times via the Web Console.

The error persists every time I power the device back on. Does anyone have any ideas?

TL;DR: repaired a switch issue, tested it for a few days and the test battery decided to puke battery material on the freaking terminal!!! Ugh.

So now I am in a crunch. I was willing to fix the drift issue but now the issue is that because the test cell (Energizer Max, 12/2030 expiration date) decided to leak on a meter which never had an issue as I removed it for safety. At this point the meter needs multiple days of testing and a new terminal.

Fluke can send me a new one at a discount for $200 through their repair program where they replace the unit. Should I repair it and void that window or just send the unit in given it has history?

I normally use Lithium in my Flukes but I didn’t want to risk a Lithium on a meter with issues.

Repaired but ended up melt/burning the connector but it should still hold steady.

*Update After Cleaning the pins of the J204 connector the screen emits a glow after turning the brightness up all the way and the tube on the back of the crt has a glow which did not happen before as seen in pictures.

*Edit Here are some photos of the power board. As far as I can tell none of the capacitors look damaged. I also took a picture of the board on the tube itself, not sure what that is called. Sorry for the weird angles but its the best I can do without removing the board.

I have a vectrex with game and sound both working but zero picture, no dot in the middle of the screen or anything. The only thing I have done to repair the vectrex was replace a fuse which brought back game & sound function. I am not very tech savvy and this is out of my league, any help is appreciated.

I've recently started using heat-set inserts in some of my 3D print designs, but I've run into a small issue — the only soldering iron I own is the iFixit one, and unfortunately, it doesn’t currently offer a tip designed for heat-set inserts.

Has anyone had any success using any of the four standard tips for this purpose? Or is a dedicated soldering iron with a compatible insert tip the only real option?

Would love to hear your experiences or any creative workarounds you've found!
