ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP500LA: Size of screws (thread and length) that fit the bottom panel of TP500L

Hi all,

I got my hands on an ASUS TP500L missing a hard drive, I replaced that and it's now working fine.

One problem is that the bottom panel screws were missing when I got it from the thrift shop. It clips closed but I'd like a more secure fit using the 10 screw holes.

Any advice on what the thread and length of the screws are or where I could find that info would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

ASUS T300LA-US51T: Recover the SSD from a dead tablet-PC

I have a dead tablet-PC Asus T300CHI.

The SSD is a SanDisk SSD 128GB which is soldered to the board. I wonder if it would be feasible to unsolder it from the board and solder it back onto a M.2 or mSATA board.

The idea would of course to be able to recover the information stored on it.

Many thanks in advance for the answer(s) …

As requested, a picture of the SSD:

Asus Transformer: Asus R554LA. Revive battery that was unused for a few years.

Asus batteries have this flaw that if a battery is unused for a few months, it completely dies and can't be charged. This apparently has to do with a "safety system" in the battery's controller.

The battery in question was brand new, installed by Asus. But the laptop was unused for a prolonged time. Is there a way to revive it? I even opened the area where the controller is. Can anyone please help?

Thanks. How many volts should the power source be. Where can I get a power source. Can I apply directly to the internal power pads of the battery? The voltage for the first three pins is 12.5, the next two are 3.3

ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP500LA: Why do my USB ports constantly connect/disconnect when on AC power?

This is a two-part question. Both parts are directly related.

1.) When my device is charging (AC Adapter plugged in), my USB ports don’t function properly. Devices with a large current draw (I.E. my iPhone) constantly connect & then disconnect. Low-power devices (I.E. usb mouse, flash drives) function fine.

2.) When I unplug my device from AC power, the USB ports function fine with all devices, but my screen flickers.

I’ve eliminated the possibility of this being a software bug, it happens even in BIOS settings & on multiple OS’s.

I have a feeling this is something to do with a ground issue, or a power circuit, but I don’t even know where to start when it comes to those things without proper information. Which is why I’m here.

Thanks in advance.

Asus Transformer Flip Book TP200S: My ASUS TP 200S screen wont turn on

My ASUS TP 200S , running windows 10 , new , actually about a month old wont turn on the screen

when i press the power button , the green power indicator turns on but nothing displays on the screen.

What happened before this problem:

the laptop would freeze up while in use and indicate a message that the display adapter driver needs to updated , switching to Microsoft basic display driver

at times i noticed a square box at the middle of the screen during the driver issues

i tried ding a windows 10 upgrade to the latest version available. however , i did not complete the update due to data connection failure after about 13% progress.

i switched it off , and turning it back on has failed since then.

what i have tried :

it has a non-removable battery so i opened the back flip cover , removed the battery and pressed the power button for about 10-15 sec . powered it up , same result.

i then decided to power it up , then check if it is actually on , by inserting a memory card . it plays the plug in sounds , when i plug it on and off , so the system is actually up !

ive checked the screen for any signs of breaking . there’s none.

PLEASE assist .

thanks.

ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP500LA: Asus Transformer Flip does not power on at all

Hi All,

So I’ve just received a family member’s Asus Transformer Flip which appears to have no signs of life. The battery LED does not illuminate when plugged in (tried with two different chargers) nor does anything when the power button is pressed. I’ve already tried a hard reset, removing the battery and attempting to use it then, as well as cleaning out the RAM/RAM socket and using a different SO-DIMM. I feel though that this may be an issue with the DC jack or the motherboard itself.

Thanks in advance.

Asus Transformer T100: Not powering on after charge

My T100TA has been habing trouble turning on. I popped the lid, unplugged the battery and left it unplugged for a good 45 seconds to a minute. Put it back together and I plugged it in overnight and now its white (leads me to believe the battery is ok). The white power LED still flashes 5 times even though, from what ive read, Ive performed a hardware reset. I will detail what Ive tried.

# Holding the power button down until white led flashes 5 times (camera side led turns on, no other response from device than that)

Holding power button for 10 seconds (similar to 1. but after the 10 second mark the camera led turns off)

Holding down “Windows Button" and power button simultaneously for 15 and 30 seconds (same result as 2. Tried holding them as if normal power on[2 or 3 seconds])

Holding the volume up/down button and power button simultaneously (Same result as 1. Tried it for 15-30 seconds but results in the same reaction as 2.)

Holding power button for over a minute (Same result as 2.)

Also tried all the methods listed above with the power connector plugged in. I also tried them with the battery unplugged before I charged it.
