DualSense: Why has one of my controllers become very noisy?

I’ve got a pair of DualSense controllers — version 1, I think. Both white, one two years old, the other a year and a half. I’ve lost track of which is older.

One of them has become very noisy whenever haptics are engaged, with frequent buzzing sounds. The other controller, playing the same game with the same settings, is as quiet as it ever was (which is to say, not silent, but not buzzing so loudly that it’s constantly noticeable).

Any ideas or suggestions to quiet the noisy one down again, short of replacing it?

DualSense: Help with naming the components of the PCB board of a DualSense contro

Hello group members, I need information about what these two components in the picture are. Also, what values should they have?

If it's possible, could you also explain what they are responsible for? My controller has a communication issue, both when connected to a PC and when the battery is connected. The battery is working, I tested it with another controller. I also reset the device using the button. When connected to the PC, there's no response, but these two components seem damaged. To be sure, I'd like to take measurements, so my question is: what values should they have?

DualSense: R1 does not register or is constantly engaged

I have 3 controllers where the R1 is constantly engaged or unresponsive (depending on the sequence of turning it on). I took apart all 3 controllers and even swapped trigger modules from the left side, the issue remains. There is no damage to the ribbons as I was able to put the Right trigger module on the left side and it worked.

My best guess is either 1) Motherboard issue or 2) Softeware bug (however there have been no updates recently). I am finding it hard to believe that 3 of 4 controllers went bad at the same time and it not being software (firmware) related. THERE IS NOTHING on the internet and I feel like I'm crazy.

Any ideas or at least how I can recoup some costs because otherwise the controllers are in fantastic condition.

DualSense: Stick is clicking after attempting repair

I followed a YouTube video on how to fix stick drift. I bought potentiometer replacements from Amazon.

I was only going to change the silver track inside the potentiometer, not the whole green assembly because I did not want to solder.

After replacing the silver track with a new one, i tried rotating the joystick around but i kept hearing clicks. With the potentiometer open and the silver track out, I rotated the stick once more and it was still clicking! I panicked so I tried putting the old original silver track back on but it still kept clicking. I decided I would open the other potentiometer and took out the track on that one and the click still persisted when rotating. I panicked and just reassembled everything back together. Stick drift is still there clicking still there.

Did I permanently damage something on the controller? I don't want to have to buy a new controller. Any help appreciated.

Thank you.

DualSense: Why does L2 only register if I press down hard?

My L2 button wasn't working after I, stupidly, sprayed some silicone lubricant in it to stop it from squeaking.
DualSense: Playstation power button not working

I'm trying to become a bit of a hobbyist In repair and my friend has given me his ps5 controllers to try and fix. Two had stick drift which were very easy to repair. But this third controller is driving me insane. I have taken it to pieces. Cleaned everything yet the PS button in the middle never engages. I've cleaned all the contact. Checked the motherboard still nothing. I changed the battery which showed the charging light working but the PS button still didn't work. Is there a way to diagnose it? (every of a button works fine. I used steam controller test which is very good for me. It shows everything working fine except the PlayStation home button)

DualSense: Why does my controller still have stick drift?

A few months ago my black dual sense controller developed downward stick drift. I sprayed the joysticks with some air to try and clean it, and reset the controller with the button on the back and the drift persisted. I finally ordered some replacement sticks from amazon. The replacements I ordered were (EL6-ALPS-2.1K) and, according to the box, were manufactured by Yuyaohengzhou. First I replaced the entire left and right joysticks, not just the potentiometers, and the drift persisted. I then replaced just the potentiometers, and the drift persisted. Finally, I cleaned inside the potentiometer housing with isopropyl alcohol. The drift is still there and I’m running out of options. What else could be causing the stick drift even after all that?

Hi.

I used the fantastic guide on here and some YouTube videos to open my dualsense because the left stick was permanently pointing left. Cleaning it seemed to fix it but the right stick, which I didn't really deal with, now points upwards (possibly diagonally top-left).
