Google Pixel 7: Dead device a week after battery replacement.

I used an iFixit kit and followed a guide here about a week ago to replace a poorly performing battery. After buttoning it up everything worked fine. I ran a calibration cycle and had multiple days of normal use. Suddenly today I pulled it out of my pocket around noon (probably had about 50% estimated charge) and it was unresponsive and cold to the touch. Here's what I know:

If I put it on a wireless charger the wireless charger blinks enough for me to assume that the battery is attempting to negotiate with it
If I use a known good 65w charger (UGREEN) and multiple high quality USB-C cables, I can get it to show a gray battery on screen with a lightning bolt in it, but after multiple hours it doesn't seem to produce a charge. The phone is slightly warm near the charging port. If I take it off the port it 'dies' (loses the little battery indicator) instantly
If I try and put it into fastboot nothing happens, except that the battery indicator will sometimes go away, so maybe it's discharging faster than it's charging?
If I hook it up to my Linux machine with dmesg running, it doesn't seem to be negotiating anything over USB :(

I like to think I'm generally pretty competent when it comes to working with electronic components. The only thing out of the ordinary with the battery swap was having to use 99% IPA to dissolve the battery adhesive, but I was conservative and it was completely dry before reassembly. I'm skeptical about the battery just being disconnected given the nature of the connector, but I'm open to cracking it back open if it comes to it. The bigger issue is that it leaves me phoneless for quite a while which is rough for 2FA.

I found the replacement part on rounded.com but not seeing any visible metal traces, should i be worried? And could i see this part elsewhere for less?

Google Pixel 8: New Screen Black on Water Damaged Phone

My phone got water damaged when a sealed bag leaked in a chlorinated public pool. The bottom sat in a very small amount of water for a few minutes, but it was enough to cause the screen to go black. Initially it was completely non-functional, but after a few days in a rice bag, it was able to power on, receive notification bells, working GPS, phone calls, microphone and speakers worked. Everything worked except the screen. Then the screen worked for a few days, but very unreliably and eventually started flickering wildly and finally failed completely. The touch still worked, but no display, just all black.

That's the background. Since everything else on the phone appeared to be working, I thought it worthwhile to attempt a screen replacement and ordered the kit. I very slowly, meticulously, and carefully followed the instructions. Unfortunately, upon removing the old screen, I noticed a small amount of what appears to be very minor corrosion on the logic board next to the screen pins (see pics), so I gently cleaned it as best I could with alcohol and a Q-tip, then brushed it gently with a nylon brush, waited for it to dry completely, then installed the new screen. Sadly, even the new screen is still entirely black and even the touch doesn't work, even after re-seating a couple times.

Is there anything I've missed or should try before requesting an RMA? I'd love to get it working, but I can't think of anything else to try and finding a logic board, aside from being far more difficult to replace, is difficult to find and would change the entire device ID anyway. In other words, all my data is lost, and there is no longer a point in trying to recover it at that point. Fortunately, I was able to backup my data in the brief moments when the damaged screen was working prior to the repair.

Hello. The glass on my rear cameras broke and I wanted to replace it. I bought a replacement glass on Amazon, but it wasn't the right one, it had a film over the lenses on the inside, which darkens my photos, and I would like to replace it with something OEM. On the site here I see what is sold with the glass back. Can I detach only the parts that interest me and replace them, without removing the back?

Google Pixel: Display is black, but touchscreen is still functional

I accidentally dropped my phone on my keys, and after that the screen is black with only a few colored pixels near my power button, but after messing around with it I realized that the touchscreen is still fully functional (it vibrates when I swipe, since I have a pattern setup on the lockscreen). Is there any easy way to fix this, or will I still have to replace my whole screen?

Wifi & Bluetooth not working after screen replacement?

Similar to this person^, my wifi and bluetooth do not work well anymore. I replaced my screen in November and haven't had any issues until last week. Because of this I am unsure if this related to the repair or not.
The wifi refuses to turn; when the wifi on switch is flipped and I leave settings and immediately return it is off again. The bluetooth intermittently goes out, but overall still works most of the time.
I have already tried resetting wifi and bluetooth and network. I have also already done a factory reset.

If anyone knows what I should do or has a similar issue please let me know.

Google Pixel 8 Pro: Pixel 8 Pro suddenly completely dead after battery replacement

I did a battery and display replacement on my Pixel 8 Pro. After the repair I plugged it in to charge and it worked as expected, rapid charging the battery. I kept using the phone, it did not get particularly hot and about 30 minutes after the repair the screen suddenly went black without any warning. It doesn't turn on and doesn't respond to anything.

I measured power draw using my KM003C and it draws 75mA for a few seconds, then stays at 500uA. Clearly not charging and not booting either, I'd assume this is just the power draw of the port controller.

I opened it back up to check if the battery had latched, but the VBAT pads on the board measure a healthy 3.6V. Is it still possible this new battery is faulty and communication with the battery prevents the phone from working?

USB connection to a computer does absolutely nothing, no enumeration, same power draw.

I tried disconnecting all sorts of peripherals, same exact behavior with display, cameras, buttons disconnected.

I can't help but conclude that I got a random motherboard failure.

I have decided to cut my losses here and sell the remaining pristine components as donor parts.

Google Pixel 6: Settings, Quick Settings, Service, and Notifications not working

It seems my phone updated during the night and when i put in my pin this morning, i could no longer access quick settings. And the only way for me to get to settings is by making a widget to access it, i can't just open the app.

I also do not have service and my phone isn't showing any notifications, it only vibrates.

My system is up to date with android version 17.

So I have a pink line across my phones screen it feels consistent with screen damage. If i apply pressure on the two opposite corners it goes awayusualy. But increasingly less sucsess. I just want to know how you would tell if this is just an issue where I need to replace the screen or if I will need a whole new motherboard.

I recently broke the screen on my Pixel 6 Pro, however the replacement is out of stock.

The Pixel 7 Pro Display seems to have the exact same dimensions as the Pixel 6 Pro display and the specs only seem to differ for the maximum brightness.

The question is therefore if it is possible to just use the newer and slightly better version of what seems to be mostly the same display as a replacement for the broken one or if i am mistaken about the dimensions, a different connector is used or the difference in power usage makes the swap impossible.

The fingerprint sensor should also be taken into account. Again it seems to be the same one but i could be mistaken about that as well.

Google Pixel Fold: The sub-display does not turn on.

The other day, I bought a used Googlepixel fold.

It was comfortable and I liked it very much for a while, but from one time on, I couldn't hold the outer screen at all. Even if it was closed, the inside was always on, and even if the notification came, the inside screen was glowing even though it was closed.

It does not fall or submerge, and if you try to forcefully start the sub-display using a fold switcher, the power will drop.

I tried to take a lot of logs with adb, but apparently the sub-display itself was not physically loaded. In addition, the part that normally reads the opening and closing and gives the angle is not displayed well. So I opened the inside once and tried to put it in again, but the symptoms have not changed....

In this case, will it be cured if I replace the sub-display with a flex cable? Or is it due to the disconnection of the internal flexible cable? For the time being, the battery on the sub-display side has been read, so I wonder if there is any disconnection of the flexible cable on the hinge.

If anyone is familiar with it, please help.

The battery looks like this. The mid frame is not pinching or compressing the cell itself, but some of the "excess" wrapping is sitting behind the midframe. Will this cause problems?

Google Pixel 4 XL: Phone screen turned black after drop

i accidently dropped my phone on its back (has a case) and the screen immediately turned black and wont turn back on, everything works and i can even click stuff and turned on the phone flashlight, but the screen is still off. it came back on while i was pushing the screen but turned off again once put it down. couldnt get it back on again after that. any help?

I like to repair phone screens as a hobby. I i'm having issues with a pixel 9. I have ordered the new screen off of Amazon, it wont power on after connected. FPC connector looks fine. Phone emits a small vibration when power button is pressed, signaling its not the motherboard causing this issue. Whats wrong? Please help.

Distinctly unhappy with device.

I've had the same Google Pixel phone for roughly three years now (23 December 2022, if I remember right, is when I got it). Up until this point, I've had no issues, other than a few occasionally sticky buttons that's easily fixable by pressing them quite hard.

Just a little bit ago, my music froze abruptly, and I had a solid five seconds of "Ah dangit, the wifi's out" before my phone shut off entirely and would not turn on. We're still at that point. Bluetooth earbuds are not connecting, indicating there is nothing going on inside my phone at this point & time.

I've attempted plugging it into my computer, with no discernable response, and the phone will not turn back on no matter how long I hold the power button.

I got a new case + screen protector & added each roughly a week ago-- not to say that's the issue, but I'm throwing it out there in case it contributes.

Any ideas as to how to get my phone up again?
