MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Late 2011: Trackpad erratic and jumping around

Suddenly the mouse of my Macbook Pro started to jump around. The mouse is clicking a lot of stuff out of itself. I tried the following:

- To make sure it is no virus I plugged in a usb mouse which switches of the trackpad.

- According to a lot of forums I had to reset the PRAM/NVRAM, like explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14222?view...

- I removed the battery to see if it was swollen. I also tested the mbp without the battery in the body to make sure it was not the battery who caused the problem.

- I removed the trackpad and cleaned it with alcohol.

Nothing helped! What is the next step? The strange thing is that after a PRAM reset the mouse will act normal for about 30 minutes. Then the problem starts acting up again.

Any ideas?

MacBook Pro 16" 2021: Machine will not power on - charge light pulses

My kiddo has my old Macbook Pro 16" 2021. They came home from school the other day and opened it up, with no response. They tried plugging it into a charger, but it still wouldn't turn on. Now, the charger they were using was apparently a little chromebook charger... I plugged it in with magsafe to the charger that came with it--the light came on green. I tried holding the power button down for 10 seconds, but the only thing that happened was that the green on the charger turned off, then went to orange. I tried pressing the power button to no avail. After a little bit (maybe 30 seconds?) the charge light smoothly turned off for about a second, then turned back on. This pattern repeated until I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Every time I tried to power it on, I got this pulse pattern, orange on for awhile, short off, back orange for a shorter time, then back to short off, short orange.

I left it plugged in overnight, and the light changed to green at some point, no pulsing. when I tried to turn it on, still nothing on the screen, no caps lock light, no trackpad clicking, but the charge light turned off for a short bit (1s?), then orange for a little longer (10s?) then back to green, which held for about 30s before flipping to off, then orange again, then back to green.

Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong? I'll probably try taking it to the apple store, but it's out of warranty and I suspect all I'll get from them is the "yup, we can send it in for a $700 diagnostic fee."

However I tried to do offline diagnostic and I got the error CNW001 . Have attached screenshot.

MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Early 2011: Charging and Boot Issue

I have a MacBook Pro 13-inch Early 2011. I installed a battery in it, but when I connect the charger, the MagSafe LED turns green, and the MacBook emits a repeating sound approximately every half second. At the same time, a white LED turns on and off repeatedly, and the MacBook does not start.

However, if I disconnect the charger, then press and hold the power button, and while holding it reconnect the charger, then release the power button after a few seconds, the MacBook powers on normally. The problem is that the fan runs at a very high speed, and the green MagSafe LED turns off, although the charger continues to power the MacBook.

I would appreciate it if someone could explain the cause of this issue.

MacBook Pro 13" Two Thunderbolt Ports Late 2020: MacBook 2020 battery stuck at 1% after repair (battery data problems?)

A few months ago the battery died and I replaced it. Unfortunately the repair did not work. When I turn on the Macbook the fans come on full power, and the battery claims to be at 1% with "Service Recommended." There was a brief moment where the battery was detected a few weeks later, but after a factory reset (I bought the laptop off a friend), it has returned to being stuck at 1%.

The Macbook turns on only when it is plugged in, but if I unplug it while it's on, it can stay on for hours (with the fan working at full speed).

Here's what I've done so far:

1. Tried a whole bunch of combinations of draining and then recharging the battery, restarting in recovery mode, etc.

2. Tried two other battery data cables from seemingly reputable companies - I even tried a tape trick to try for a better connection, it did nothing in my case

3. Got a second replacement battery from ifixit (they kindly sent one for free)

So far, none of these attempts have made a difference.

To me, it seems to be an issue with the data transfer from the battery to the rest of the computer, but I think I've ruled out a good number of culprits. Usually, I'm able to figure these problems out on my own, but not this time. Any help would be highly appreciated!

MacBook Pro 16" 2021: Horizontal screen glitches after water damage and repair

So long story short, I wiped my laptop (MBP M1 16") screen with a rag and then cleaned the keyboard in the same go. I used too much liquid apparently, as the keyboard then started producing multiple keypresses and shutdown after booting.

I brought it to a repair shop which then replaced the keyboard but after I took it home, the screen started to flicker weirdly and after 10-15 minutes, went black (not totally, had a weird glassy ghost effect). The next day, the screen did work but there are weird horizontal glitches (not black though) and an area which is kinda sepia in the screen. Using the screen eg. watching Youtube seems to aggravate it.

I took it back to the shop, unsatisfied with their lack of professionalism then went to a different shop and didn't get much out of it except that the screen needs replacing and it's gonna cost a lot (1257€).

So, does anyone have any clue what's wrong with the laptop? Or if there's some way to check what's really broken—nobody has really given me proper explanations. Running diagnostics returns ADP000 (no hardware issues). What !#^&@@ me off the most in this whole debacle was the 1st repair shop's sloppiness in diagnosing the damage before handing it back to me, causing this infuriating back-and-forth.

MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2015: Vertical colour bars on the LCD screen when switched on

MacBook Pro 15.4" Mid 2015 A1398 (IntelCore 2.8 GHz)

When switched on, the display shows vertical coloured bars under which the desktop is partially "readable". The MacBook is virtually uncontrollable. The LCD has no visible external damage (only the black rubber around the display is torn in a few places).

The display is probably not the cause of the problem, as the streaks also show up on the external display (another MacBook with the same configuration) as well as on the 9th gen iPad.

What is causing this problem? Is it the LCD cables, connectors, or part of the logic board (the whole board)?

Hi!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any information about the new MacBooks; it seems the older models can boot up even without a battery.

Does anyone know for sure if the new MacBooks can also boot up without a battery, using a USB-C power adapter? I'm in the middle of a repair and want to check if the device is still alive.

Thanks a lot!!

MacBook Pro 13" Two Thunderbolt Ports 2019: MacBook wont power on

I bought a macbook a2159 with a no power issue, when i plugged in a charge meter it jumped to 5V .3A then immediately to 0.00A and then kept looping between 0.00A and 0.02A. Then i noticed that the .3A draw happens only when its unplugged for a while and one thunderbolt port loops faster than the other. Theres only 2 coils that are getting power (2R7 is getting 6 volts and 1R0 is getting 5 volts). When i inspected the board i noticed that there is a discolored q9621 chip

MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2010: battery won't charge up, no green lights

When the charger is plugged in, the battery symbol on the upper left shows a blacked out battery with the "energy bolt" as it is getting power from the cord. However, it won't charge it any further. So, if the computer is used without the cord, thus, using battery, that's it... ! I've replaced the charger and that didn't work. I also replaced the battery, that also did not work. I then replaced the charge port and still, no luck :( What is my next step? This computer was too expensive in my opinion to give up and I'd rather not have to get a new computer or take it to a shop. I can take pictures if desired. If anyone believes they have the solution and can give me a list of what I need and how to do it I'd be much appreciative. Thanks.

I've done all of this with no result. The charging port is also brand new. I reset the SMC numerous times thinking I just wasn't doing it right. It just is not working.
