Meta Quest 2: What's the Oculus quest work behavior when proximity sensor not work?

I have an oculus quest that is experiencing black screen issue. Until last week I was able to use it by disable tracking in system settings or by disable the proximity sensor using sidequest. But one day it suddenly stopped booting and the black screen started happening right after the Meta symbol at startup, not allowing me to enter the oculus menus. I pretty sure this happened when the device tried to install the v42 update at night. To make things worse I did a factory reset that didn't solve the issue and now I cannot put the device in developer mode using the mobile app. When I try to put in dev mode the mobile app show me a red labeled message telling to try later. I tried everything. Did 20x factories reset using app and using USB mode, tried hard reboot. I disassembled the Oculus (only the first cover) and tried to unplug the proximity sensor flat cable. I tried everything. I ended up not doing this for fear of breaking the flat cable. After this the Black screen issue behavior changed a bit: now when I set the the Delay time to going to sleep in power settings the device appear to respect this time. That is: if I set the Delay time to 15minutes for example, no matter what I do, the screen stays on (on black/ dark Grey screen) for 15 minutes. But one day it suddenly stopped booting and the black screen started appearing right after the Metax symbol on startup, not allowing me to enter the oculus menus. To make matters worse after that I did a factory reset and besides not having solved it, now I can't put it in developer mode using the mobile app. telling me to try later. I tried everything. I ended up not doing it for fear of breaking the flat cable. no matter what I do, the screen stays on for 15 minutes. Before I touched the sensor this behavior was random. What I'm deducing is that the proximity sensor was working poorly maybe the cable was in bad contact and after I messed with it stop worked completely. After said all this ... Can any of you tell me how the oculus works when the proximity sensor is physically disconnected from the device? Is there any thing I could do to get the device working again?

It all started when I was playing gorilla tag on my oculus quest 2, and I hit my left controller on the ground so hard to the point that the battery in the case came out! I put it back in, but ever since that, when ever I even move my hand even just a little, my left controller freezes in places for couple seconds over and over again :/ does anyone now I can fix this instead of buying a new 65 dollar oculus controller?

Meta Quest 2: 1st Proximity sensor clip identification

It looks like the black 4mm clip for the proximity sensor (located just after it's opened) may have broke. Looking for details on how the sensors cable/clip functions or what the specific connector is called.

The parts are so small I am having trouble seeing them even under magnification. For instance..

Is the cable just pressed in at a 15 degree angle?
Is the boards connector 2 or 3 rows of pins?
Is the lower (smallest) finger on the side of the cable used for indexing somehow?
How should the clip be attached?
Is the connector a standard component?

Meta Quest 2: Broken ring/halo ribbon assembly inside torn in half

Son broke his halo/ring, ribbon assembly that surrounds and connects everything inside ring is torn in half. My question is how can I find a list of internal parts to replace items like this? I cannot even find a diagram or schematics. That's all I really need then I can figure it out. Thanks in advance

Meta Quest 2: Turning on automaticity when charging

Hey there, so my quest 2 is having a issue where whenever it’s plugged in to charge it will power back on, I have tried everything to troubleshoot shoot and think it’s a technical issue was wondering if you ever seen this before or know how to fix it

I have swapped the proximity sensor with a good one to see if that was it bc I thought it could be but nope still same issue

Only other thing I could possibly think is the usb charger port/cable but I’m not a pro when it comes to small device repairs so don’t wanna risk it without more details and testing

Meta Quest 2: Is it possible to upgrade/change the CPU or GPU on the Quest 2?

I'm curious whether it is possible to upgrade the CPU or GPU on the Quest 2 (ex. swapping out the Adreno 650 for a 750) or if, due to the way the Quest 2 was built, fitting any other GPU would be impossible due to fitment or software issues. While my technical knowledge for hardware is fairly limited and given that this is probably impossible to achieve, I acknowledge I would probably be better off just buying a Quest 3 while selling my Quest 2, but I'd still like to see if there are any other experimental things I can do to push the limits of this headset. And no I'm not saying if it were possible I'd do it myself; I'd call a professional for that. And while I didn't ask this as part of the question I would also like to know if it is possible to upgrade the brushless motor of the fan blade or even swap it out for a more powerful one entirely.

I’ve tried multiple cords on it including the original. Quest won’t get above a 10% charge. Haven’t been able to even get on it in months due to this. Is there a decent cause or solution?

Meta Quest 2: My dog peed on my headset what do I do?

So my dog peed on my VR headset yesterday. When I put it on, the right eye peice wasnt working but everything was still normal. I tried restarting it and thats when it went down hill. At first it would be stuck on the blue infinite loading screen. Then It wouldn't turn on or even show the white light. I let it sit to dry and today when I came home I tried turning it on and it turned on! Even let me click on a game. But then it said that the head peice couldn't find tracking. So I tried to restart it and now im back to not being able to get passed the blue infinite screen..should I continue to let it dry and wait? How long should I let it dry? What is the process I can take to fix this...

im having a problem with my VR headset so i was in a rush i knocked over my water bottle and a-lot of water came pouring out it went all over the head set i didn't think anything of it at first then it wouldn't turn on then i tried to charge it when i seen it said it was dead i left it to charge after trying to clean it with a towel and it said it was updating so i left it and then i went to bed and now im here its not turning on its not charging its not showing the blue light i done the things i wasn't supposed to i tried turning it on a-lot and i tried charging it and i also dropped it what do i do im freaking out my mother is going to end me!
