Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5-1570: How to repair the power adaptor

The power adaptor is not working. it’s similar to Lenovo GX20L29764 65W Laptop Adapter/Charger with Power Cord. Where can I get the circuit diagram for this and how do I start checking the same for damage. My assumption is it could be some fuse, diodes, or capacitor which got damaged due to power fluctuation

Lenovo Yoga 6 13ALC7: Lenovo yoga 6 Won’t turn on

Ok, so my laptop has been overheating the last couple of days and I realized that the fan was not turning on at all. So I opened it up unplugged the fan, plugged it back in and then I pressed the novo button. I didn’t know what the novo button prior to this but figured it was some sort of hardware reset button that would help the fan turn back on. But now the whole laptop won’t turn on and the charging light isn’t event turning on when plugged in. I have verified the cable works (it’s a 65W but has been having issues fully charging the laptop). Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Dell XPS 13": Microphone dead (feedback when laptop is closed) in XPS 13 9315

The microphone on my laptop (XPS 13 9315) recently stopped working in a peculiar way:

The microphone does not pick up any sound (I gone through every permissions setting, etc). All of the drivers are up to date. I've tried just using the Sound Recorder and it is completely flatlined.

The camera still works just fine. As do the speakers.

When I close the laptop, before it goes to sleep, it produces some awful feedback noises if neither the mic nor speakers are muted.

I am tempted to think that it is a cable issue, but the fact that the camera is fully functional gives me some pause there.

The only insult that the laptop has sustained since I last used the microphone was that is was in a backpack in a hot car for a day which had me a little worried. That said, I hadn't used the mic for some time before this, so I do not have a clear link from this to the current state -- I just feel bad that it was in a hot car.

HP EliteBook x360 1030 G3: Why is my Laptop not charging and powering on.

Hey guys, I'm having a huge issue with my laptop. It won't turn on or charge at all, and the battery is completely dead.

The charger it came with seems totally fried, since it doesn't work on other laptops either. But even when I tried using a few other working chargers on this laptop, it still wouldn't light up or respond. It feels like power might be flowing through when it is plugged in, and I even popped it open to try running it straight off the wall charger without the battery connected, but still no luck.

What do you think could be causing this, and how can I fix it? Is the motherboard just cooked?

acer nitro 5 AN517-51-75X3: How to Troubleshoot Acer Laptop Not Powering On

I have a 2020 Acer Nitro 5 AN517-51-75X3. It doesn't show many signs of life and I've met a dead end in troubleshooting. Does anyone have any idea how to proceed?

This is what I observe

If I plug in the charger, the blue battery light is stable

Absolutely nothing happens when pressing the power button: no fans, no lights, no beeps, nothing

I am comfortable with a screwdriver and own an Ifixit pro toolkit so I can get pretty much anywhere, but I have not been able to find any schematics online for this motherboard, and although all ports are labeled, most labels are just some letters and numbers, and not actually informative. Acer and their service partners probably have a list for that, but I wasn't able to find it online, so I'm flying partially blind.

I have tried these things:

There are no peripherals connected to the laptop.

hold the power button for 10, 25, 30, 60 seconds as well as a lot more times for different durations

remove battery and charger, hold power button for 90 seconds to drain residual energy

use a multimeter to confirm the battery delivers power (~16.8V, should be anywhere between 14.5 and 17.9v, so that's fine)

use a multimeter to confirm the charger delivers the appropriate voltage to the motherboard (measured behind the thing where the power socket wire connects to the motherboard)

use a multimeter to confirm the keyboard connector has power to ground at least at several pins

use a multimeter to verify the CMOS battery delivers charge (~3v)

reseat RAM

reseat a lot of other connectors

visually inspect entire motherboard, there are no signs of damage to the motherboard, capacitors, or anywhere else.

short the 1&2 pins on the keyboard connector to ground (separately) to try and force a boot

Nothing I try seems to make any discernable difference to the laptop behaviour.

This is what I'm looking for

I would like some pointers on what else I can test or verify to try and pinpoint the issue. Currently my only remaining guesses are

1) the keyboard is non-functional, and since that contains the on/off button, the laptop can't turn on because of it.

2) the motherboard is toast, but I consider this unlikely because 1) it's never the motherboard and 2) there are no visible burns, leakages or damages anywhere

Does anybody have an idea on:

how I could eliminate or confirm the keyboard as a cause (preferably without having to buy a new keyboard because those are expensive for a test),

how I could test/eliminate/confirm the motherboard as a cause

what other things I could test

Thanks in advance!
