Now my ps4 can't turn on; when I push the start button it beeps one time and turns off immediately.

Haven't play for a long time, when i tried to started it, the beep and the blue light comes out, but i turns off immediately. After that i wont be able to start it anymore, unless i remove the ac plug and plug in again. I have already changed a Brand new Power supply, but the problem still didn't solve.
Wish i can found a solution heres, and sorry for my $@$* grammar.

- I turn on the PS4

- It beeps

- The blue light turns on for a second or two

- It turns off completely

- The PS4 is now completely irresponsible

- I need to plug out the power and then plug it back in

- We're back to step 1

Has anyone faced this issue before? Is it something i can fix myself?

Hello! I found a dirty, roach infested, rust infested, ps4 model CUH-1215A underneath a trash heap. It boots up, works fine, and I started to clean it up. The only problem is these dark spots or burn spots on the ground of the motherboard.

I did research and talked to A.I. saying this could be a burn spot and I need to chip away at the surface and put epoxy? to make the surface even with the rest of the MoBo?

Scraping the MoBo seems unsafe, unsure what I should do here. Any suggestions? preferably from somebody very experienced.

This evening I tried turning it on because I hadn't tried to in a while and for the first time I noticed a tiny spark close to the fan. There was also a slight smell of burned electronics. Being the DIY guy that I am, I took it apart to find that a SMD capacitor had ruptured.

Does anyone know the rating of the broken capacitor I've highlighted in the photo? The mainboard is the PS4 SAA-001 from the PS4 CUH-1001A model. Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks for your response. In my spare time today I managed to get the blown capacitor off the board. It just fell away in pieces as soon as I put a pair of tweezers to it.

Just as you mentioned, I do see some damage to the adjacent capacitors. I will take your advice and have those replaced as well. You also mentioned damage to the pad below the cap. but I'm not at all sure if it's the case here. Please take a look at the pics and let me know what you think.

Does it look repairable?

On a side note, I wish there was a way of knowing the capacitance without having to remove a good one from the board.

Got you on the pads. I’ll try to get them cleaned up soon and report back on their condition. Thanks a million for going the extra and demonstrating what healthy pads look like. On the board, there are some sections with pads where capacitors would be installed but are left blank. The empty pads are copper color (pictured). Hopefully this is a tiny indication that the pads where the capacitor exploded are still healthy.

after said cleaning the disc drive no longer took games, eject button did not work either.

all i did was take the disc drive out and cleaned the rubber rollers carefully and brushed it for dust, i did not dismantle any of the parts.

i opened it up more ( carefully ) and i found a random small black spring stuck to the magnet/spindle in the disc drive, removed it and tried again, and still dead.

i have now checked every ribbon cable with a multimeter, inspected for damage and those are all fine, checked all fuses i could find and they are also all fine, also checked everything is connected properly and they all are.

the daughter board does have power, i checked with multimeter in various spots and found nothing wrong or missing, the chips on the daughter board do get warm when the console is powered on for a while.

the random spring i found seems to belong to the manual eject cogwheel, even after placing it back it still did not work, manually inserting and ejecting discs do work using said cogwheel on the side but the console does not read or react to the disc being inside.

i have checked the 3 switches on the back and they are also good and behave correctly, all plastic parts do what they are meant to do and no signs of weird behavior or damage.

there is no sound, or signs of life at all anywhere in the disc drive system.

the eject button did work again randomly after i had it turned on for 15+ minutes but it only beeped, and during my testing, repair attempts etc the "Unrecognized Disc" icon appeared twice, even though i had no disc inside, the eject button did also stop working again once and then randomly worked again after i ejected the "Unrecognized Disc" via the options menu.

i also noticed that sometimes when powering on the console after having it plugged out i need to press the power button twice, the first press just makes it beep but not power on.

i have spent so many hours on this, dismantled said disc drive 10+ times and tested it non stop, watched 7 or 8 videos about the disc drive, and read so many articles, guides and looked at so many pictures of the disc drive and console itself.

can someone please help me out?

Recently, my PS4's power cable has been falling out for no reason, even with the normal vibrations of the console. I'm pretty sure it used to be a snug fit but now even if I just touch it it falls out. Do you think it's just a faulty cable, or could the actual power port inside the console have moved? I tried slowly pushing the cable in but it won't go past a certain point and never fits securely.

I need your help to diagnose my PS4 problem.

I can’t turn it on, dispite the blue light being on. Neither the touch power button, nor the Dualshock is working to turn it on.

When i unplug the power cable, the blue light turns off, and when i plug it back, the blue light comes back and the PS4 beeps 3 times, but nothing on the screen, i can’t get it turned on or remove my bluray.

I first thought about the power bloc, but considering the light and the beeps, can it still be that or does it comes from something else ?

The power button literally doesn't do anything; and if the PS4 is plugged in, the controller light blinks twice or thrice then stops as if it has turned on the PS4 already. (but when the PS4 is unplugged, it only keeps blinking) When I press the eject button, it only beeped once.

I've tried various solutions around the internet such as holding the power button, replugging both power cord and HDMI, trying another outlet and power cord, and tilting it different ways. I was able to manually eject the disc inside, which causes the eject button to beep 3 times now.

I've seen people say that it could be a power supply issue, so I went ahead and bought one online since the warranty is void already. After replacing the power supply, nothing changed. Still the same symptoms.

Anyone here who can help me fix the PS4 or at least give me an indication as to what the problem could be?
