My friend wanted

help cleaning the glass on her oven door. Of course since I’m a “know it all”, on repairing things I volunteered.

We got the thing all torn down and cleaned the glass but it seems the bottom of the glass door is swinging free and I can find no way of attaching it. So Mr Know it All Repair guy has utterly failed with this repair and must come crying for help. It all looks fine and hangs OK but the bottom swings out when the door is opened. I can see no way to attach it. How about it @ladytech, can you help me out?

Stove: Why do some of the buttons on my oven touch pad not work?

I have a Frigidaire brand gas oven with an electric range that has a touch pad used to control the oven (temperature, broiler, etc.). I got an f11 error with a constant beeping sound, so I tried unplugging and replugging it into the wall, which didn’t work. I then cleaned the contact points between the display layer with alcohol and now the beeping sound is gone and some of the buttons work, and others don’t (buttons #1-6, and a few others work, buttons such as “bake”, “broil”, “start”, “cancel”, and “set clock” do not). Why is this and how do I fix it?

Maytag Stove: My power shuts off when I run my dryer

Hi all,

I'll start by saying that I thought maybe it was the breaker, so I replaced it. But the issue predicts

Whenever I run my dryer, I "trip" the main breaker. But not really. Everything shuts off in the house and I have to manually flip the main off and then back on.

I can run 2 A/Cs, 2 box fans, 2 ceiling fans, the oven and the stove with lights on wherever in the house with no issues at all. But as soon as the dryer is turned on, boom. Power is out. We've tried it with EVERYTHING off in the house with the exception of the kitchen light and still, no power. Sometimes it happens within minutes, sometimes it runs for 20+.

A couple weeks ago it stopped happening for a few days... I honestly don't know what it could be. It's not hooked up to a brand new 30amp 2-pole breaker, the dryer itself is only a couple of years old, and the issue didn't start until a few months ago. I don't know where to even begin troubleshooting...

Any ideas?

Induction cooker: How do I get rid of the induction cooker control panel?

I want to operate my induction cooker without the control panel because it is broken,

There is five wires connecting the control circuit with the the device main circuit but I don't know which of them should be connected with which to turn it on.

I even don't know if this is possible.

Stove: Problem with oven temperature regulation

I have a Samsung Stove (NE59K3321SS/AC) with a weird oven temperature issue. I got this second hand and the cooktop works as expected, but when I use the oven it won't maintain a consistent temperature.

I'll set it to something like 350F, then when it beeps I'll open the door, put something in, then close the door. The display will still indicate that the temperature is 350F, but the temperature inside the oven will slowly decrease. It sounds like the relays for the elements are clicking away and I can hear the convection fan turning on and off, but the temperature goes down (I checked this with a separate oven thermometer that I bought at a local hardware store). If I wait about 5 minutes and turn the oven off and back on again it will indicate that the temperature is something like 300F and bring it back up to 350F, but after that it will do the same thing again. Sometimes it will go way over temperature too (sometimes 25-40F over), but that's less common.

I had a repairman out to look at the stove but he wasn't sure what the issue was and thought it might be the main control board for the oven. I ordered a replacement off reliable parts and put it in just today, but the same problem happened. The repair guy said that it probably wasn't the temperature sensor because they either work or they don't, but at this point I have no idea if he knows what he's talking about. I also had it happen today that the separate thermometer said the oven was at 375F and when I turned the oven off and on again the oven said it was at 325F and heated up until it thought it was at 350F when the separate thermometer read 400F.

Does anyone know what's going on? Any help is appreciated.

The dust inside the glass is terrible, so I want to remove & clean.

Stove: Thor / Hallman / Hyxion range clicking

I have a Hallman range (same as Thor, both made by Hyxion) Model HRG3609, serial HRG3609U00224 that clicks whenever I put it on HIGH and place a large pot or pan over the burner. This has been the case since the first day I uncrated it. I have cleaned the burners thoroughly and dried them. I have checked to make sure all of the holes are free of debris.

The manufacturer tells me this is a common problem but they are unable to help me resolve it and nobody in my area will work on this brand of range (I’m in Atlanta, so the pool is pretty deep and nobody will touch it).
