When I put it on charge it shows a red light but it doesn't seem to turn on also it has been 3 years since and I had tried to dry it by wrapping it in a towel.

So is only the display cooked and could I use the parts to make a simple raspberry Pi alternative or is everything damaged?

Any idea why the touchscreen wouldn't work in that moment ? i also have connectivity problems with my tablet, so mabe this has something to do with it ? it never did that before.

I picked up a Kobo Forma off of Ebay for cheap; the charging port was pulverized and I figured it would be an easy fix. After replacing the charger port, I tried plugging it in to charge, but even with leaving it on the connector over night, it didn't come up. Checked the voltage on the battery and had nothing at all. Removed the battery from the circuit and tested the pads with the charger cord in, and only saw 0.063VDC, so something in the circuit isn't reaching the battery.

Does anyone have any idea what to check from here? I tried looking online, and I can't seem to find any board layouts for this Forma. It's an 8GB model if that helps; I can't seem to find the actual model number on the unit.

I have attempted pretty much all hacks available on the internet and contacted Amazon support, who told me it's a corpse, gave me a 200 dollars for a new devices and I kinda accepted that Voyage is now a paperweight right next to the new paperwhite. However, I recently came across the idea of jailbreaking the kindle and thought I might try it with the Voyage and see if there is any way of reanimating it.

So what I want to ask, does anyone know if I can do some kind of full factory reset, even with a wipe? Or if there is clear cmos kind of button inside? I don't mind disassembling it if I could fix it. Maybe there is a way to bypass the OS on the device and directly connect memory storage to the computer or some kind of microcontroller programmer so I can manipulate files directly?

Symptoms:

- Initially, a white LED was fading/cycling on and off.

- Now, there is no LED light at all and no response to button presses.

- The screen is 'frozen' on the last book cover I was reading.

- The device is not recognized by my Mac.

Steps already tried:

- Multiple 30-40 second power button holds (both while plugged in and unplugged).

- Manual factory reset attempts using the Page Turn + Power button combination.

- Physically opened the device and disconnected the battery.

- Performed a 60-second power button hold with the battery disconnected to drain residual power.

- Cleaned the white interconnect ribbon cable and confirmed it is seated correctly on both the motherboard and power button board side.

- Attempted to 'auto-boot' by plugging into a Mac with the battery disconnected (no response).

- Verified the motherboard button bracket is present.

I'm concerned the deep discharge followed by a 17W charge attempt may have 'latched' the power management IC or that the battery has dropped below a recovery threshold. Is there a known way to force a boot or reset the charging controller on this specific model?

As you can see it's open the page it has when connected to a computer. This is because last night I uploaded a pdf. The connection wasn't very strong actually, so I know it didn't immediately get locked into this screen. Only when I finally got the cord to sit snug, and finished the upload, would it stay in this screen.

I've tried turning it off and on, and it does go to the correct off-screen, but it does not allow me to restart. When I hold down on the power button the light at the bottom blinks and then turns off after a few seconds. It does not open the power off/restart menu, and that's the primary problem. I suspect this issue would be cleared if it restarted, but the nature of the issue stops me from doing so.

If necessary, I could wait for it to run out of battery. That's the equivalent of a restart. I did just charge it to full though, and the battery on this thing is impressive, plus draining the battery has got to eat into the battery life somewhat. What would you do? Any suggestions?

I changed the USB-C Port from my iPad 12,9" 5th Gen and while opening the iPad it seems like I cut some black flat copper wires (see attached images, it's marked pink). Does anyone of you know what these wires are for?

Furthermore my display is now damaged and show the Apple logo very very dark (looks like a backlight issue) and after "booting" my display only shows some pixels around two edges. Is the whole display damaged or something on the logic board?

I would appreciate any help or tips.
