Oster 6344 Toaster: Why won't lever work

Nothing is bent and the crumb tray is clean. So why won't the toast lever say down? Is it done with magnets (as our other toaster will only work when plugged in for the lever to stay down). Could the magnets stop working if that is indeed what keeps the lever down? I hate to ditch this toaster and if I could get it to work, I'd return the one I just bought.

Toaster: My toaster sparked when I used a fork while it was ON

Dear ALL,

I would be grateful if I could get some advice on how to fix my favourite Russell Hobbs toaster. I used it last morning and while I was toasting bread, my son suddenly touched it on its sides with a steel fork while it was still toasting. It suddenly gave a spark and my mains went off(meter tripped). Later, when I tried to switch it ON it did not. Please kindly let me know if something can be done to fix it right or should I give it up. I would love to bring it back into life please.

Any advice/suggestions are great welcome and would be very grateful.

Thank you in advance.

Toaster: Small blue flash when toaster is finished

I just bought a 2nd hand toaster, it toasts fine, but there is often a little blue flash as it finishes, or if I press the cancel button. I’m not sure if this is a problem or not, I have had a couple of other devices ( a heater and a kettle) that did the same thing, so is it a problem?

Also, I’ve bought 2nd hand electrical stuff before from this shop, and they usually have a “passed safety testing” sticker, but this item doesn’t, is that a worry?

Update (08/13/2021)

The blue flash is coming from inside the toaster, and no I don’t have DMM.

Toaster: What could be the problem with my 2 slice toaster

I have a 2 slice Hamilton Beach toaster that is only 3 months old, it was working fine than when I pushed it down it did not stay, so I held it down and noticed 2 of the sides were not working. Knowing that it has a power magnet to hold it down when pushed, I took the case off to check the points, they looked clean but I took a fine sandpaper and went over them anyway. This did not help. I then checked voltage and I had power until I got on other side where there was another circuit board, I had power going to the circuit board, but none coming out other side, so I am guessing that one of the components on the board is bad, but how do I check? I checked this while holding it down myself.
