Whirlpool Washing Machine: Washer fills, agitates, stops, agitates, stops, repeat, then spins.

Whirlpool top loader old school mechanical timer washer. Circa 2005.

The labels on the machine say: Ultimate care II, imperial Series, quiet wash, commercial quality, super capacity plus, 10 cycles, 3 speed motor, 6 speed combinations, porcelain basket.

LSN1000LW0

Washer recently started doing this thing where if agitates briefly then stops. The timer carries on through the cycle. It fills and spins fine. I did the unplug it technique a few times but never to could get it to agitate much longer than 30 seconds at a time in any cycle except for in the extra low agitation cycle ( Delicates)

I have spent some more time observing this machine. My washer says it has 3 motor speeds. Low, high, and extra low agitation and low and high spin are named features of this washer.

4 cycle choices on the dial 1.) normal,-(superwash, heavy, regular, light)-High&low agitation, high spin,

2.) Hand washable- intermittent agitation, low spin,

3.) Extra delicates-extra low agitation.

4.) Casual Permanent press, high& low agitation, low spin

So I Ioaded it lightly and watched it do an entire cycle on each of the 4 cycle settings without interfering.

Normal-It fills, agitates on high, pauses, agitates more, pauses (as if low agitation is skipped?). Timer continues to advance. It goes through this for the entire cycle. It then Spins. Fills for rinse and does the same routine on rinse cycle as during wash cycle. Agitate, pause, agitate, pause. So I started to think about how 3 speed motor operation might be a factor.

I switched to a cycle that says intermittent agitation.( Delicates,) And this cycle seems to work fine. ( Delicate pattern is Agitate, soak( pause) , agitate, soak.

Extra delicate cycle-extra low agitation. This cycle works fine. Yay! At least I can wash light loads on this cycle.

Ok so I'm starting to agree that the circuit that activates agitation levels is suspect.

But now there is more:

The washer tripped the breaker today in the middle of the extra delicate cycle. Pfft.

My family wants me to throw the thing away. I want to fix it.

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Washer stops at spin cycle, but drains. Drain and spin cycle works?

Hi,

I'm having a hard time finding an answer to this specific scenario. My Whirlpool washer model # WTW4815EW0, about 4 years old, recently stopped spinning out clothes at the end of a wash cycle. We use both the normal cycle and bulky items, and this occurs on both. The problem began gradually, only sometimes would the washer not spin out at the end of the cycle. Now it's every time. However, the strange part is that mechanically it has no issue spinning. After it decides to quit on the wash cycle (clothes are clean and tub drained, but still sopping wet), I just set it to drain and spin and it finishes the job without problem. So I don't think it's a lid latch, a belt, or anything that would stop it from spinning ever. What do I need to do to fix this? The washer was cheap to begin with and the cost of a repair person could easily cost as much as it did new, so if it's not something I can fix on my own I'll just get a new one. Thanks for any help.

Update (09/08/2019)

I have some updated information. I ran some manual tests and found that the washer spins on low but not on high speed. The low speed test runs without issue. During the high speed test, the motor kicks in for just a second and then immediately quits, with lid lock light flashing. I performed a tachometer test which it also seemed to fail. I checked the belt underneath which looks good. Drive test performed good. Control board has no obvious damage.

Whirlpool Washing Machine: F9E1 whirlpool washer won't drain FIXED

UPDATE: NO POLARITY. CONNECT THE WIRES HOWEVER YOU WANT. Wtw5100hw0 wouldn't drain, so I checked the hose for clogs. Checked the plug for continuity and nothing. I found a break in the wire so I fixed that. Check continuity and nothing, I cut the connector off and both wires have continuity. Now the problem is I can't find the connector I cut off. I have female spade connectors on the wires but have no idea which wire goes to what terminal on the pump.

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Whirlpool 1cwtw4845ew1 toploader cold water valve solenoid?

The above mentioned washer refuses to fill up on the cold water side randomly, basically you can hear an electric humming sound but no water enters. So I have already figured it must be the solenoid going bad (or am I wrong)? Hot water side works just fine. Did the manual check, and indeed cold water side throws an error. Question: I already found the whole inlet valve available, but I suppose just the cold water solenoid is not available for purchase? Or is there another fix I could use. The part (whole valve body with hot and cold water) is rather expensive, so if at all possible, would rather not purchase it right now.

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Clothes sopping wet at the end.

2 year old Whirlpool wtw5000 top loader.

Washer washes, rinses and drains fine, water pumps out like crazy. It's spins. I'm not sure how it's supposed to spin compared to our old style washer. It spins stops , pumps some water, spins and stops pumps some water and then it's done. But there's still some water down below and clothes are sopping wet? The darn thing takes so long to do a load of clothes I've never really paid attention to what it does and when. So everything seems normal except the clothes are wet.

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Whirlpool front loading washer does not stop filling water during wash

I have a Whirlpool Duet Steam front loading washer model WFW9550WL00.

Have an issue that started after the last wash cycle.

During the wash cycle with a full load the water does not stop filling and eventually water starts leaking out front door (drum is half full of water and rising).

I tired a wash cycle with an empty load and no leaks or overfilling of water.

I checked the pressure sensor hose and blew in the hose to check for clogs (no clogs). I have ordered a new pressure sensor (will be delivered in a few days).

Is there any other reason why the washer would overfill and not stop filling with water when clothes are in the machine compared to when it is empty during a wash cycle.
