I'm trying to fix a family members phone which doesnt show any picture on the screen. from what i was told the phone kept overheating when she used the GPS for a long time and it made lines show up on the screen. Apparently that went away after a few days, but after a couple of weeks the screen now doesnt turn on at all.

Anyone know how i should fix this?

I followed this guide... But something strange happened when i try to power on the phone.

The new touchscreen works well without a simcard, but when i put the simcard on the socket it simply become unresponsive! any advice on this?

Hi, I am doing this on behalf of my brother.

He has a yellow lumia 1020 and loves it. Recently, his phone has started to malfunction, and the flashlight led stays on, no matter what we have tried! We have completely discharged the battery, and as soon as we plug it back in, the flashlight turns back on again! we have tried the software, but it freezes as soon as we try and access anything to do with the camera and flashlight!

He is known for dropping his device a lot and it has not been exposed to water*

Any Ideas?

My phone always randomly turns off, I would be texting someone and then it would (sometimes) flash and then turn off and its really annoying me, and sometimes when this happens my phone will be at 50% 60% etc and the phone will say its dead... I have a Nokia Lumia 1020 GB 32GB which is the usual standard in many countries except that

64GB is sold in certain EU countries. Is there a way if I can upgrade the memory

I do not remember exactly, if it has started doing that after I have dropped it to the tough surface or before. However, phone restarting or freezes whenever it wants. Mostly when phone getting charged, it is next to me (no matter if it charges wireless or wired) and I observed it restarting or freezing more frequently when it is charging.

Freezing in this instance means that screen goes black, as if it would be turned off and phone does not respond to any button or screen commands. You cannot turn it on by pressing power button and only restart with power and volume button turns it on.

Might be helpful. Phone has some visual defects after aforesaid drop:

1. Dent on the top backside (speaker side) - http://rghost.net/7qS7qD46w & http://rghost.net/7bYtzyK9m

2. Surface of the screen at the top where the "Nokia" writing is, is little higher than aluminum side facing - http://rghost.net/6lK9GhdQw

I had proximity sensor problem as well as all above and official service could not help me (I think they are just useless in my country) reporting that they have replaced the proximity sensor (which is still a problem).

Any suggestions how to fix it?
