iPad Mini: Front facing camera not working

I have 3 iPad Mini 1st gens with the same issue: The front facing camera is not working. I replaced the cameras and still had the same issues. Restored them to stock, same issues. Hard reset, same issues.

Has anyone ran into this before? I can't for the life of me figure out what the issue is. I checked everything out under the scope and the connectors are undamaged. Is there possibly a filter or something that could have popped?

iPad 4 Wi-Fi: Gray lines on LCD after screen replacement, now iPad wont power

I cracked the screen of my 4th gen iPad and decided to attempt the repair myself. After a good 2 hours of painstakingly removing the shards of screen I finally connected the replacement and decided to test it before completely reassembling. When I first powered on there was grey lines running across the screen so I powered off and rechecked the digitizer and LCD connections - all looked fine. Powered on again, same thing happened. Disconnected LCD and digitizer a second time and tried again. Now my iPad wont power on at all. I've tried a forced reset by holding down the power and home buttons, nothing. It seems totally dead. Tried to restore from itunes but due to the new iOS 7 upgrade, I need to first disable Find iPhone on the iPad - can't get in to the iPad to do so. iTunes at least recognizes the iPad and find iPhone says that my battery is still at 57% so its definitely not an issue with charge. Not sure what the exact problem is and would really appreciate some help on what to try next. I'm guessing I accidentally damaged the LCD and I will order a replacement but given that the screen lit up to begin with and is now unresponsive I fear I have caused some other damage? Thanks in advance for your help.

iPad Air Wi-Fi: Replaced cracked screen. Ipad now doesn't turn on.

I have attempted a repair on an iPad Air with a cracked screen. Prior to starting the repair, the iPad worked with the cracked screen. After the repair, which went flawlessly, the iPad would not turn on. If I connect the iPad to iTunes, iTunes recognises the iPad but says that the iPad is locked and must be unlocked before doing anything else.

At this point, I assumed I had purchased a dud digitizer on eBay and ordered a new one from ifixit. That arrived this morning and I repeated the repair procedure... with the same result.

At this point, I am assuming that I must have somehow damaged the LCD screen during the repair. Before I go ahead an order an LCD screen though, I would like to know:

is that a reasonable assumption?

are there any tests I could perform to confirm this diagnosis?

Thanks.... Steve

iPad 3G: Ipad3g dead, was crushed

I received an iPad3g that was ran over. While the display and touch panel were broken, the internal parts did not look bad. I cleaned it up and put it back together. The display shoes white light so I ordered a new display and touch pad. I put it all together doublecheching all connections but now it is dead. While it was apart I tested the battery pack and it tested good. Prior to taking it apart I had put the new screen and noticed that the battery was almost dead as the display worked but when I attempted to charge the unit overnight it did not charge. Also, it did not get detected by my laptop and I tunes diagnostics could not communicate with it. Does anyone have any schematics with testing points I can use to diagnose? Note I disassembled this device down to the shell in order to reform the warped shell.

iPad 9 Wi-Fi: Digitizer don't work after replacement

Hey,

My wife IPad has been smashed by the dog. Touch screen was working (I tested every corner and other places) but it was so smashed so we couldn't use it anymore. I ordered new digitizer and watched some tutorials and videos on YT how to do this. The hardest thing was removing old smashed digitizer and clean old glue. When I done it I connected new digitizer but it don't react for any touch. Sometimes screen is moving my it looks randomly. For me it looks fine but could you tell me what could be the reason? Pins looks fine for me but when I was removing old glue I scraped off some black paint on that thing between connectors and battery connector. Could it be the problem? Replacing digitizer in some service in Poland is pretty expensive and Apple can only replace whole device for price which is higher than new one (wtf).

I also tried to connect broken digitizer but I cut flex cable when I was removing broken digitizer.

Answer:

I knocked off a filter when i was removing the antenna wire.

But as you can see... it is somewhat of a design flaw.

They put the antenna clip very close to the image filter.
They glued the antenna clip in place so it cant knock off a filter on its own.
Getting the antenna off with the glue makes it easy to knock off a filter

Perhaps i would use some rubbing alcohol and some heat next time i try to remove this antenna
