iPad Mini 2: Why does backlight work for a second?

Does anyone have a recommendation of a place I can mail my iPad mini 2? I have the problem where my backlight works and an apple logo shows up when it’s booting up but only for 1-2 seconds and then it goes black.

I’ve tried resetting it, replacing both LCD and screen components, but I get nothing. My problem now is I don’t have anywhere to go with it since it has been opened up and there are no good places near me. Is there a reputable place you can mail your iPad?

The touch screen still works perfectly, but I’m getting no functionality from the Home button at all. I can’t end an app without powering down and restarting the iPad.

The iPad will start going black and then go back to what I was doing it has a few cracks but has never done anything like this before and my iPad is for school work so it can’t keep being glitchy. What do I do? I really don’t want to have to go buy another iPad!

iPad Mini 2 Wi-Fi: iPad won't charge reliably; Lightning connector bent

I’m fairly sure the Lightning connector on my iPad Mini 2 bent when it fell off the bed while charging. I can charge it if I pull up on the cable (toward the screen), but then it stops charging when I let go.

What’s the best way to remedy this? I think if I could get to the connector, I might be able to bend it back into shape, but I don’t know if that’s possible without removing the entire logic board. Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this issue?

So I was following a guide in Front Panel replacement and I didn’t turn off my iPad before taking the front panel out.. Now I am in the process of taking out the LCD, how do I turn my iPad off?

The screen was badly broken and when it was removed, the cable just to the left of the rear camera was broken. I need to know what it is connected to and how/where to get the replacement part.

repaired an ipad mini 2, had ghost touching for abit, now the ipad wont allow me to do anything, lcd works fine.

tried kapton tape on now as i hadnt put any on at first.

Is it possible to replace logic board with a wifi only logic board. The ipad is a LTE/wifi model. Thanks to the latest IOS update, my ipad is bricked. ( purchased it from a reseller ( airline luggage) ). Don’t really want to buy another Ipad and apple hasn’t been any help.

hi all,

dudes and dudettes

gurus and guruesses

water damaged iPad A1489, so before I invest too much time and

energy I've read all the other posts questions/answers and til now

I've not seen any that apply to this model

powers up and screen remains dark- but can see the apple logo

(with a strong inspection light)

for 3-5 seconds and then shuts off/dark again

suspected back-light fuse, diode or filter

but I'm not that good as to be able to identify on my own

I've done general mild gentle cleaning and I know at some stage

the lcd connector/pins needs to be cleaned thoroughly

so looking for some kind help-

pictures are just for orientation first

will post better specifics as required- hopefully

iPad Mini 2: Replaced Digitizer - Backlight DOES turn on, but only briefly.

I can tell this subject has been beaten to death, but I can’t find one that addresses my particular issue. After replacing the digitizer, the backlight turns on every time, but only for a second. So the backlight works - but it won’t stay on. I’ve done all the reset tricks, disconnected battery 5 hours, etc., but the backlight only pops on for a moment (But it *will* turn on every single time). Any ideas?

iPad Mini 2: Lcd stays black once locked after replacement

Got the LCD replaced today and everything works fine till the screen either times out or gets locked.

after locking when I try to unlock the iPad the screen stays black but if I plug it into the tv with a hdmi adapter the screen shows up on tv and digitiser does work.

If I restart the iPad it works again till it locks.

running 12.1.1

iPad Mini 2 Wi-Fi: Sunken & stiff home button.

I replaced the front glass/digitizer on my iPad Mini 2 & have had issues with the home button. It is recessed deeper in the glass compared to the original & it is much harder to actuate. I have remedied the alignment problem by forming the metal bracket for a flush fit, but the switch is still hard to actuate. I tested the button with the front glass removed from the case & it is still stiff, so It’s not anything to do with how the assembly fits in the case. It’s stiff enough that I have to be very aware when double clicking, as it will not always work. I don’t see any way to fix this as it appears that the switch spring is internal. The switch always operates , it just takes extra force to depress it. It’s not spongy or anything. Nice firm click if pressed hard enough. I would guess about twice the force of the original switch.

only when the devices heated up , an when i turn the display on and off 2 times it comes back normal but not for long .

Just wanted to see if anyone else experienced the same issue I am having. The original digitizer was cracked on my mini 2 retina by my wife. I ordered and replaced the digitizer from one from iFixit. That digitizer died after a year of use so I got a new one via warranty. After installing the new digitizer the back of the iPad now gets hot with use, where the logic board is located. Does anyone have an idea what would cause this?

I just attempted to replace the lcd and digitizer on an Ipad Mini 2 LTE. I connected everything correctly, but the lcd won’t turn on. The Ipad is recongized in Itunes. I would try to back it up but I can’t allow the computer to be accepted. I tried 3 three lcds. The previous broken one lit up, but was gray and orange with line. Is there some fuse burned out on the Ipad.

iPad Mini 2 LTE: iPad mini 2 won't get past the apple logo

I have an iPad mini 2 that was my mother in laws and it stopped working right so she bought a new one and gave me this one. The issue started out when you plugged it in to charge. When you plugged it into the wall charger the apple logo would show on the screen and it would beep slow. It would never turn on or do anything else at all, just show the logo and beep. Now it has progressed to just the logo and nothing else at all. When it dies all the way, the battery icon that shows it needs charged will show up, and then the apple logo comes back and just stays. I’ve done the hard reset with the power and home button and it doesn’t do anything. I can’t seem to get it into recovery mode to plug it into my computer to see if iTunes can do anything.
