iPad Mini 2 Wi-Fi: LCD replacement parts needed?

I replaced a broken screen on my ipad mini 2 the other day. Unfortunately while I was replacing it, my toddler “helped” me by placing his hand on the LCD. When I finished replacing the screen, and tried to power on, i had the white lines and black spots all over the lcd. When I went to the parts store to get a replacement LCD, there is a note at the bottom that says “LCD does not come with foam liner”.

What is the foam liner, do I need it, and where do I find one (couldnt find it listed in the parts store)??? Also, does it come with adhesive attached to it or do i need to get some (and if so what do I use, because that also wasn’t listed in the parts store)?? (Yes I know I need some adhesive strips for the screen then; I already have them in my cart lol.)

iPad Mini 2: Is the replacement really "difficult"?

On the repair guide (iPad Mini 2 LTE Front Panel Replacement), is the repair really “difficult”? It seems like it should be pretty easy. What makes it so hard (take a screen off, put a new one on)?

If it helps, I would buy this part (iPad mini 1/2 Screen Digitizer)

So I just did an digitizer change on an iPad mini 2 and now I have a super-sensitive home button. Any one knows why? I just have to lay my finger on it an it will react. Double tapping it will bring up Siri. Also putting some pressure on the right side of the home button on the glass will give the same reaction as to using the home button. Some problem with grounding points?

I just replaced an iPad mini screen and LCD. The display keeps flickering black. If I hold the power button it turns back on and shows the power off and the display.
iPad Mini 2 Wi-Fi: Screen doing its own thing like touch disease

Hi,

I replaced a digitizer on this some time ago and the customer has come back to me saying the screen does what it wants and types like its got touch disease.

I've done a bit of research into this and I cannot see a confirmed case of touch disease on an iPad. I've cleaned the digitizer and its still acting weird, It also changed the volume on its own too. I have managed to capture it on a video (link provided)

Any ideas what it could be? I'm along the lines of this is a board issue. I suspect there is a problem with a data line or cpu where the Ipad is receiving a bunch of nonsense signals.

So now I’m looking at it and when i took it apart the battery connector didn’t seem fully connected in. I checked the ipad with a tristar tester and everything was ok but it said the battery wasn’t connected. After i disassembled it it took a charge with high amps 2.12 or so then gradually went down to zero in the morning. So now reassembled it wont turn on. Strange that person wanted to keep divice after it wouldn’t work for parts… besides replace screen to see if it (suddenly went bad) Can you think of anything that i’m missing ?
iPad Mini 2 Wi-Fi: New glass not sticking well.

I replaced the glass/digitizer on my iPad Mimi 2 & all went reasonably well. Everything works properly, but the glass keeps popping up in a few spots. I was very disappointed in the instruction video as it made no reference to cleaning off the old adhesive or any instruction about reassembling the unit. It is not as simple as reversing the removal process! This unit may have some damage to the case, so the glass may be lifting because it is ever so slightly bowed??? Never the less, the adhesive doesn’t hold very tightly. Makes me wonder if it should be heated to make it stick better? Judging by how difficult it was to remove the original glass, this replacement adhesive is nowhere as strong. Should I reheat the edges to get the adhesive to work better?

Thanks,

Is it compatible with this model? Thanks
