iPhone 5: iPhone 5 compass does not calibrate or move.

I changed the screen a couple months ago, I replaced the non magnetic screw with a normal magnetic screw. I just noticed that the compass doesn't work at all. It's just frozen in one spot when trying to calibrate.

I didn't realize it for a few months, so I just removed the magnetized screw. Compass still does not work.

I've reset the phone and erased data etc. Still nothing.

Can I replace the compass? Any way to fix this?

iPhone 4S: iPhone 4s replacement screen white around the edges

I replaced my iPhone 4S screen and when I restarted it everything looked ok. After a short while however the new screen started displaying a milky white glow along the edges. I've reopened it and checked the connectors but no luck. I'm also suspecting that it's spreading. The digitizer works fine.

Any ideas what may cause this and how to fix it?

Update: after letting it rest overnight the screen looked fine first thing in the morning, however the white 'halo' reappeared shortly after. Heatsink issue?

iPhone 6: iPhone 6 Stuck on Apple Logo with Progress Bar Not Moving After Update

Hi everyone,

Would much appreciate if somebody could help me please. The phone returned to myself from a customer, it worked fine previously but now it has stuck on Apple logo with progress bar screen after an update to iOS 10.2.1. It turns on, the progress bar goes to the end until 1mm of it stays unfilled and freezes. iTunes recognizes the phone, showing all the phone's details as usual (memory size, serial number, backups, etc). I left it for a few hours, but it still showing the same.

If I do a restore it restores, then freezes again at the end at the same stage, when iTunes already shows the screen with set up as a new iPhone or restore from backup options. I tried hard reset and restore in DFU mode, but still nothing.

If this is related to hardware and if someone had faced a similar problem please share, maybe I should try to reheat some components with a hot air station?

Many thanks!

iPhone 6 Plus: No cellular reception, wifi just fine

Hi guys, i posted on this matter befor but im going to start an thread on my own for better visibillity.

I got an defective iPhone 6 Plus and want to try and repair it myself. The problem is that i cant get any GSM reception. Here is what works and what i tried to resolve the problem:

All wireless connections like wifi and bluetooth are working (except but cellular ofc).

Everything else also works just fine. When i take out the sim card, it immediatelly tells me "no sim". If there is a sim installed, it either searches for reception like forever or just says no service. I also can see the imei and baseband number in settings. There are no signs of waterdamage whatsoever.

Today i replaced the upper antenna (the one with the plastic housing), the dock connector and the antenna cable connecting the dock with the logic board.

None of that worked.

Im starting to get a little desperate here :(

Does anyone have another idea which part could be broken? Is it the logicboard itself? Is there any way to further run some tests to find the source of the problem?

Maybe the simcard reader itself is damaged?

I would really appreciate some help/suggestions what to do.

iPhone 5: How to Replace JUST the iPhone 5 screen, not the whole LCD

heya guys!

recently cracked my screen on top..not on the useable part thank god! just enough to bug me so i figured i would go get a screen that's reasonable price.

what i ended up getting was the screen itself.not the whole LCD/Digitizer part, even tho i should have.

so I'm looking into doing the repair myself, being patient and just doing my research before i even attempt this , since my phone is still working great.

so i know how to get the screen off pretty much, its just the part after I'd like to have suggestions/tips for.

i have the screw driver set the whole works, what i dont have is the tape or glue i need, and i was wondering which glue i could use, is it possible that i could use one from a regular store, instead of buying online? any tips will help! thanks:)

iPhone 6: How does the antenna design on the iPhone 6 work?

Hello,

I noticed that the housing of the iphone 6 consists of three parts. one part is the big middle part where the logo is, which includes the two metal parts enclosed by the plastic stipes (where the camera and flash are i.e.) and then the two metal bands one on top and one on the bottom (where headphone, lightning and speaker grill is).

These metal bands are not connected to the main "chassis", they are only attached with molded plastic and are therefore electrically isolated.

My question is, since internal parts are connected to these metal bands and the logic board also has a kind of connection to it, could it be that these bands are the antennas themselves ? and (i suspect so) do the have to be isolated from the main "chassis"?

the other explaination for this design could be that it is cheaper to build that way and that the "gaps" in the housing (the plastic stripes) are enough to allow antennas on the inside to work.

does anybody know more about this ?

Thank you very much,
