iPhone 5s: Not charging after battery replacement

I recently replaced my battery with one I bought from ifixit. It worked fine for a few weeks but suddenly it stopped charging. When I connect the charger it indicates that it charges but the battery does not charge at all. I opened the phone, disconnected and reconnected the battery and it seemed to be OK for the next weeks. Since yesterday I have the same problem again and the same trick did not do anything at all. Any ideas?

Update (11/23/2019)

Thank you all for your help. An update: I checked the charger port flex cable which seems fine. Then I disconnected the battery and when I plug the charger the phone shows the apple logo. The battery cable also seems to be OK. Maybe the battery itself is faulty? Should I ask for a replacement battery?

iPhone 5s: Battery capacity terrible after repair - stuck at 100 mAh

I did a bit of an overhaul on my iPhone 5s, replacing the lighting adapter and accompaniment, then a few days later replacing the front facing camera/prix sensor cable and battery.

Upon startup after the second set of replacement parts the phone seemed to work fine, but discharged amazingly quickly. I used Battery Life app to check the capacity and it was showing 100 mAh where it should have been 1550.

Ok I thought, must be defective, I'll put the old one back in for now. I swap them back and lo and behold, the old battery is also showing 100 mAh and discharging super quick.

So: coincidence? Did I cause a short somewhere? Software issue? Is it worth trying another battery replacement or is it just time to retire the phone and upgrade.

iPhone 5s: Phone dies at 20%

iPhone 5s: iPhone 5s Stuck in recovery mode has black screen

I started having problems with my Iphone when 3g stopped working, wifi was good. Reset it still did not work. Couple hours later i was watching a video off youtube and it just crashed. Tried turning it on no response, plugged it into itunes which says it is in recovery mode and gives an option to restore but that will wipe everything and i have pictures that i have not backed up to icloud yet.

Got a Program called Reiboot that claims it could get around wiping the phone, detects the phone correctly dowloaded the correct firmware goes to "repair it" the apple logo appears then fades a couple of times then i get an error from the software to try again (this is the only time i get the screen to display anything, even when it's connected to itunes)

I have tried holding down the power and home button with itunes to get it out, it just disconnects and reconnect and itunes declares that it is still in recovery mode. Is there anyway i can recovery my photos and such before i try restoring it? i have tried 3rd party software but they cannot detect the phone and i can't use the default import option on windows as i can't select "trust this device" on my phone as the screen is black.
