iPhone 6: Can't get the adhesive off the phone battery (iPhone 6)

I've been at this thing for quite some time and I'm only continuing to get more frustrated as I go. Everything was going well, until I'm supposed to remove the adhesive holding the battery down to the phone. I attempt the way shown in the guide, of which, both adhesives snapped to below the reachable point. Looking through the comments, there were suggestions that I should heat up the back with a hair dryer until it's hot to touch, and then attempt to remove it using a few different methods. Of which, all has failed. I cannot seem to get this %#*@ adhesive off. The floss snapped, I tried with an old card and it doesn't appear to be strong enough, and I've tried using the pry tool which only resulted in ever so slightly prying the battery, which now appears to be bent along the edges, and I'm afraid to "puncture a hole and set a fire." I need to replace this rather quickly as I use my phone for important tasks quite often. Hopefully someone can help me. Thanks and have a good one

iPhone 6: Screens lifting after a week of fixing

I fixed my friends iPhone 6 and everything went fine. It was working but the screen didn't seem as tight to the frame like it does for the other iPhones but I didn't think of it too much. After about a week the screen is lifting now he said. Did I not push it into the top frame as much when I closed it? What do you think the problem is?

iPhone 6: iPhone 6 keeps saying it "needs to cool down" (temperature)

Hello, I put a new screen on this iPhone 6. I recently started using it as a business number. While I'm driving and using maps, the temperature notification comes on all the time. The phone doesn't even feel very hot to touch so I'm not sure what could be the issue.

I know every component on iphones but I'm not even sure where to start with the temperature, is that something within the IOS? or a part on the phone itself that could be damaged?

iPhone 6: Increased EMF after damage?

My iPhone 6 has a few areas of damage: the screen very slightly lifts up/clicks at the bottom, the metal on the bottom outside is kind of beaten up, and at one point water got under the screen.
iPhone 6: Good ways to seal the Backlight from LOCA glue?

Hey everyone!

I've been giving glass-only repairs a try recently, and the only issue I came in contact with was where LOCA glue would enter the backlight of the LCD. I've seen many videos and guides already, and some suggest just using a mold, others say blue tac works well, but there doesn't seem to be a good solution to this yet.

Therefore I wanted to ask if anyone has more experience in this and if anyone has any suggestions.

Yes, I know that OCA exists, but I want to keep the repairs affordable. I have seen an item on eBay which is a LCD backlight sealant (some sort of glue which is put onto the sides of the LCD (http://www.ebay.de/itm/371221025033)) but I have not seen any reviews about it yet. I also tried using electircal tape, but liquids get underneath anyway. Maybe thin double sided sticky tape works? I have also heard people removing the backlight first, but how do you reattach it?

Also little sidenote: Does a LOCA glass replacement work on iPhone 6s too? It should, but since the 6s has 3D touch, this may be a problem.

I would be happy to hear from you guys!

I went to replace my screen after breaking it a second time (I'm a klutz) and during this process the connector on the cable that connects the home button to the logic board broke from the cable and remains in the connector on the home button itself.

iPhone 6: Touchscreen freezes after fall

Hi,

I own a small repair shop in Amsterdam and recently I came across several iphone 6 with the following issue:

Customer dropped the phone the screen is broken and in some cases not but it freezes and becomes unresponsive after short while after start. It might be completely operational for a few minute at some point it just gets stuck. The phone doesnt get hot or anything.

My assumption is that something gets damaged on the logic board because of the shatter damage from the fall but I didn't find a way to test it.

New screens are 100% working because if I use them on another iphone 6, no problem.

Did anyone else have this same issue? Any possible solution or just a waste of time?

put phone through laundry for 15 minutes in sleep mode.

dried it out in rice, got pentalobe screwdriver the next day, opened it up,

....skip ahead, put logic board in sonic bath of 99 or 100% alcohol for awhile. (i dont have a hot air rework station to open up the logic board metal shields)

before I was getting weird colored lines on the display. after the logic board sonic bath and opening the display to dry out/clean with alcohol, it at least showed an apple logo, and i could get it to itunes recovery mode, but when I unplug it from a wall and plug it into a computer, it shuts off completely.

took out the battery, same issue

bought a replacement battery.

installed it. still having that same issue. Apple logo keeps repeating when plugged into a wall. I can put it into iTunes recovery mode, but when i unplug it from the wall and try it on a laptop, (laptop is plugged in) it shuts off.

phone doesn't show apple logo or light up at all when plugged into laptop.

thoughts? is this a charge port issue? what else can i try?

do i need to open up the logic board shields?

iPhone 6: No Signal / GSM Antenna Replacement

My iPhone 6 often has no signal. It sometimes works for a few hours after many restarts but then won't work again for days.

As good as I found out, the GSM Antenna is located in the dock connector part. Is this correct? Will it work if I replace the dock connector part?

P.S. I made sure that nothing else is causing the problem: SIM is changed, software is good, it's not one of the chips on the logic board.

iPhone 6: Home button not functional

It started with Touch ID failing. Then the home button wouldn't wake the device, but once it was awake with the power button, the home button would work. Now the home button doesn't work at all. I took it to uBreak iFix and they tested the home button and it was not the issue. At this point, the phone was 3 years old, so I upgraded to the 7 Plus, but I still have this phone sitting in a drawer. I got the home link cable and replaced that last week, but there still is no function in the home button. Someone on Reddit who claims to be an Apple technician said that replacing the display will fix it, but that doesn't seem right on the 6 since the home cable isn't integrated into the display like the 6S is. I'm really only doing this to maybe resell the phone and I just want to know if it's even worth doing to try to sell it. It's the 128 GB, so maybe there's some value there, but if that eaten up in parts cost, I won't bother.
