iPhone 6: Repair process after water damage

Hi everyone,

So I am a noob in repair so i need some help.

I have two iphone 6 from my family i will be happy to fix them.

They fell in swimming-pool so they did not stay more than 45 sec or 1 min in water.

(I do not know exactly it is a long time ago like 6 months)

I will begin to fix which fell in W.C.

So the process to fix:

1)Dissassembly and look for corrosion

2)After put them (but which parts?) in alcohol 90%

3)Let it 3-5 hours to dry it

4)Assembly

5)Try to turn on

6)If it is not turning on,try to a new battery and lightning connector and maybe screen (which is the best order to replace?)

7)If nothing helps so it is the motherboard so it is dead?

I add some pictures because I do not see corrosion so I do not know which part first to replace because the corrosion...

So I put here the process if someone can tell me advices I am a noob.

And also the 3 questions I have I will be happy to receive advices.

iPhone 6: Broken LCD or Hardware issue? (Video)

I dropped my phone and NOT ONLY vertical ‘ghost’ lines appeared : I was going to order a new screen + digitizer, however I noticed something else. After a minute of use or so, the screen starts to get eaten away by gray-ish horizontal lines (imgur video). This happens more frequently everytime ( 1.30 minute, then 1 minute, then every 30 seconds.) I could not tell if my iPhone is overheating because I can’t stress it enough (touchpad unresponsive for some areas).

If I had to guess, I would lean towards defective hardware.

iPhone 6: Is it possible to unblock an iPhone 6 - IMEI unblocking

Hello,

I was wondering if it is at all possible to unblock a IMEI locked phone. Ive got a friend that broke his phone recently. He claimed int against the insurance, and they locked it. The cellular and wifi now doesn't work. Is it possible to now unlock this phone. Ive read that jailbreaking can be useless, and theres a company that'll do it for a fee. They claim its an instant unlock, but I'm a bit weary as it costs $50.

The company is called 'Keys2iPhone.com'.

Has anyone used this site, does it work, are there any other alternatives?

Please note; this is a forum question in regards of my friends phone

iPhone 6: Battery Draining Extremely fast

Well that's the case, my battery drains too fast, from 100% to 20% in around 4 hours (1 hour of use); i can usually see the percentage going down..

let me give some details, the phone suffered an accident and the screen broke, since then, the Wifi antenna failed (and will stay grayed out, with a spinning bluetooth) and with his extreme drain, first i replaced the battery by myself with an alternative spare, the original battery was swelled, but the problem persisted even with the new one, since the screen was broken i didn't used the phone, so couple of days ago took the phone to an authorised iPhone service center to get the screen fixed.

Now i see the battery still drains, and well this all the info i could gather.

- Haven't replace the wifi antenna, so it might have something to do with.

- The Battery drains even when the phone's off (and almost at the same rate)

- Each % point last a couple of mins at top; but, the first 1% (100%-99%) last much more than the rest.

- The battery has been recalibrate multiple times.

- And as the picture in the links shows, coconutBattery says that this battery has just 1 loadclycle (even when i've calibrate it many times). this was corroborated by the team working on the authorised service.

-----coconut Battery status/ loadcycles, state and draining ratio ----

I really believe that the new battery is not working either, so i will get it replaced this week; but there's a chance that the real problem might be a logic board short circuit...

'''

so any thoughts?'''

iPhone 6: Should I buy a screen replacement from eBay?

iPhone 6: phone works but touch screen is unresponsive after water damage.

I dropped just the top of my phone in water and it immediately went black. I soaked it in rice for 24 hours and it still wouldn't turn on. I brought it to a repair place where they cleaned it etc. They were able to get it to turn on, but I can't use it because the screen does not respond to my touch. They said it's a malfunction of the digitizer and for some reason there was nothing they could do. Is there any way to fix this? The screen isn't cracked or anything, the display is fine. If I replace the digitizer with one of your kits, should that fix the problem? What else can I do?

iPhone 6: Touch ID not working after screen replacement?

I have made a screen replacement on my iPhone 6. Now the touch ID does not work any more. I have read that if the home button flex cable is damaged, this can occur. Is that really so? The button itself is working just fine.

I know for a fact that the home button can not be replaced because then touch id will not work, plus you can never upgrade the phone again without getting a error 53. Can you confirm this?

So my last question. Can I replace the home button flex cable or is that also coded to the chip or home button touch id?

iPhone 6: No signal after screen replacement.

Hi guys. I need help with an iPhone 6. Mind you this is not the first iPhone 6 LCD I replaced so I'm not exactly a beginner. I did everything by the book as I replaced the cracked screen and everything seemed okay after reassembly. But after about 30 minutes , an hour tops of testing the signal dropped and I can't seem to be able to get it back. I tried disassembling everything again and looked if everything is in order and seems that everything is properly connected back. The client tried to send it back to warranty without talking to me first and they repair centre said that it MIGHT be that the motherboard got damaged while replacing the LCD but I find it difficult to believe as I have replaced and least other 20 iPhone LCDs in the past without any issue. Now of course I have to take full responsibility and I am evaluating if I should change the whole motherboard or not. If anyone could point me in the right direction and help me avoid doing that I would greatly appreciate it.

UPDATE: No..the person asked if signal problem could be because he changed the screen. As for me...I really don't know...I used plastic tools...quality spare screen. I'm asking my self now if maybe I put the wrong screw but..small update...when I do a factory reset the signal comes back for about 5 minutes in which I'm able to make phone calls after which the signal is lost again. I'm lost...can't figure out what it is. Anyone knows where exactly I'm suppose to look for damage signs? The phone was working prior to the lcd replacement, that, unfortunately I know for a fact.

I have an Iphone 6 that is dead? Won’t turn on, still heats when charging. I’ve tried several methods, power cycle, volume and power button combs., charging overnight, and applying force to the back of the phone. It won’t turn on, and itunes doesn’t recognize it. Help requested!
