iPhone 7 Plus: Error -1 iPhone 7 plus

a customer brought in a iphone 7 plus for a screen repair, but it had a broken lcd so i was unable to test it before i opened it. (note ive fixed about 30 7/7plus without issues.) anyway after installing the new screen I found the phone lagging and freezing up. but it wasnt my screen because the power button was also lagging and when i opened voice memos the record icon was unable to be pressed, also i only use oem apple lcd replacement parts, refurbished by myself so i know they arent fake. anyway I tried to restore the phone to see if that would fix it because i know there have been alot of issues with ios11 and im getting error -1 and now the phone is stuck in recovery mode...if tried updating/and restoring in dfu still not working. another note i tried both itunes and 3utools. when i flash on 3u i can see that it fails at 80% when trying to flash fuddata.

So i recently dropped my iPhone 7 Plus and now my rear camera isn’t working. The front camera works perfect but the rear doesn’t. The rear only works when i click the “x2” button, but that’s it. And it also fell on the front so i don’t know why the rear camera isn’t working. I have tried mostly everything. What can i do to fix it? Will i need to replace the camera?

iPhone 7 Plus: Why is iPhone 7 Plus overheating around the rear camera area?

I recently purchased it around two weeks ago and I've noticed that whenever I watch videos/movies or use apps that involve using the camera, the back (mainly around the rear camera) gets so hot to the point where it has actually burnt me! I was thinking it might be a battery issue but the entire back doesn't get hot, only the camera - the rest of the back is normal temperature, Anyone know of a solution to this? All help is much appreciated. :)

iPhone 7 Plus: Replace iPhone 7 Plus LCD screen on iOS 11?

So I just had a cracked iPhone 7 Plus (the ultra-rare red-back one, which COULD make a difference, I suppose) that was on iOS 11 come in for screen repair. They had tried to get it fixed once but the repair facility said it got stuck on the apple logo and wouldn't boot up. I had just gotten a few different 7 plus screens from different suppliers so I figured I'd give it a shot. With each one, it did the same thing: Apple logo -> flicker -> Apple logo -> my desktop speakers get static-y like a phone is about to turn on -> NOTHING -- it just stays on the Apple logo (the longest I let it sit was about 3 minutes I believe.) With each I had the home button connected to the screen but nothing else.

Now, here's the kicker--I also tried it with a cracked, but functional (to be fair, I do not know if iTouch is still functioning on this screen), original iPhone 7 Plus LCD screen and it still did the same thing. So it's not a matter of aftermarket screens, it appears to an issue with replacing any iPhone 7 screens on ios 11. I know I have successfully replaced screens for an iPhone SE on iOS 11 and it worked. I think I've done a few others but I'm not sure which models.

Has anybody successfully replaced an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus screen when the phone was on iOS 11?

iPhone 7 Plus: Shaking video and camera

This iPhone 7+ A1784 came in with a broken digitizer. A horse has stepped on it. No problem, I replaced the digitizer. She had forgotten the password so I couldn't get into it to test. Now it's back in, been wiped clean and no password. The camera images on both single shot and video vibrate like crazy. Even still shot taken show up with the blur in them. I would think this would have to do with a stabilizer but don't know enough about this to know what part I need.
iPhone 7 Plus: Troubleshooting issues with iOS 11 and 3rd party hardware

I've been having trouble getting my iPhone 7 Plus working with iOS 11. The following hardware items have been replaced with 3rd party (non-Apple) components, all purchased from iFixit...

The screen and digitzer assembly

The front facing camera

The battery

Here's the problem: When I upgrade the OS from version 10.3.3 to version 11.0.1, the system becomes extremely sluggish. Every tap takes at least one second to respond. Scrolling and panning left to right on the home screen is smooth, launching any app (even settings) takes about two seconds for the phone to register a tap. At first I thought it was the digitizer not responding to touch, but I've come to the conclusion that it's just the system being bogged down by some sort of incompatibility between the new iOS 11 drivers and my 3rd party hardware.

Here's what I've tried:

Restoring via iTunes DFU as well as upgrading from the iPhone settings app.

I've reinstalled the original (cracked) Apple screen assembly before upgrading to iOS 11. This DOES NOT resolve the issue.

I've installed a second third party screen (different manufacturer)... no luck.

I've downgraded the OS back to 10.3.3, and everything works fine again (like new). Not a long term solution.

My troubles have lead me to think that the incompatibility is with either the battery or the front facing camera. Since I don't think that the battery requires drivers, my only conclusion is that the front facing camera assembly is not compatible with iOS 11.

I've been having difficulty finding any original OEM front facing camera assemblies online to test my hypothesis. Any ideas or solutions from the iFixit community would be helpful. Thanks!

iPhone 7 Plus: Y screws feel like they have been welded on!

First time repairing a phone. Managed to undo the '*' and 'x' screws really easily, but the Y screws just will not budge! Only managed to get one of them out easily. The others ended up stripping them but got them out using the rubber band trick, and a lot of pressure. However, I need to remove the screws where the home button is, and I don't want to apply a lot of pressure as I fear breaking something. Maybe it's the screwdriver I'm using? I'm using one that was part of a cheap set from China. I noticed the screwdriver had a small tip on the end of it, so I filed it down, thinking this was the problem. But it didn't really help.

Has anybody else experienced this problem? Any suggestions for a good make of screwdriver ?
