iPod Touch 5th Generation: iPod Touch 5 Boot Loop & Won’t Restore

I’m hoping someone has seen this before. I have an iPod touch 5th generation that I’m trying to save because it has old photos on it.

Here’s what’s happening:

If it’s unplugged, it does absolutely nothing and won’t power on.
If it’s connected to a wall charger, it immediately starts boot looping (Apple logo for about 5 seconds, black screen for about 3 seconds, then repeats indefinitely).
The moment I unplug it, it shuts off immediately.
I replaced the battery with a brand new iFixit battery, but the behavior didn’t change.
The iPod can enter Recovery Mode and DFU Mode, and my computer recognizes it.
However, when I try to Update or Restore it using Apple Devices, iTunes, or 3uTools, the instant I click Update/Restore, the iPod exits Recovery Mode, goes black, and then shows the low battery screen. It never gets to the Apple logo with the progress bar.

Has anyone experienced this before or know what hardware issue could cause these symptoms? I’m hoping to repair the iPod without losing the data if possible, so I’d like to avoid restoring it unless absolutely necessary.

iPod Nano 3rd Generation: New battery, Nano 3 freaking out

Did a battery change recently and the iPod is reacting oddly to it.

When unplugged the battery holds charge quite well, and when plugged in it will immediately show a full battery icon with a lightning bolt inside of it. When in the diagnostics tool, the battery reads as 3.779V and the charging value as 100mA. It has undergone a factory wipe, and is detected by my PC with no issues.

I'm at my wits end here, any advice?

iPod Nano 1st Generation: iPod Connects and Disconnects in Loop

When I connect the iPod to USB, it gets stuck in a loop of connecting and disconnecting. See: YouTube Link

The iPod has a new battery.
I had the same issue on different PCs with different cables.
I tried cleaning the connector with isopropanol.

iPod Nano 7th Generation: damaged the battery pad and others

On the logic board of an iPod Nano 7th generation, I damaged two solder pad areas marked in my diagram.

One area is inside a black circle where the solder pad is completely lifted or missing. I don’t know where this pad originally connects, and I’m not sure how to properly restore the connection since there is no usable copper left in that spot.

Another area is inside a red circle, which is also damaged but I already ran a repair there.

There is also a yellow circle where I ran a thin copper wire, and that one is the only point I connected to the battery line.

Right now my main issue is the black circled area. I don’t know the correct point on the board to jump it to, or how to trace it properly when the pad is completely gone.

Has anyone repaired something like this before? What is the safest way to find the correct alternate connection point and rebuild that line without risking instability or damaging the board further?

iPod Classic 7th Generation: Flash Quad + iPod Classic 7g — stuck in restore loop on iTunes

Hi all,

Stuck on a iPod Classic 7th Gen with iFlash Quad build. Would appreciate any help.

Setup:

- iPod Classic 7th Gen

- iFlash Quad

- 256GB + 512GB Samsung EVO Select MicroSD cards (both on confirmed compatibility list)

- New 3600mah battery

Background:

PC crashed and soft locked during first restore attempt. Powered down computer, disconnected the iPod and rebooted. After that the iPod wouldn't boot — stuck asking to restore. I have manual and auto tested the iPod through diagnostic mode. All internals and hardware are recognised by the system and functional.

What I've tried:

- Reseated SD cards - ipod identifies all 768GB, both cards detected.

- Completed iFlash SDXC prep guide, cards formatted to FAT32.

- Tried restoring on Windows with iTunes 12.13 and 12.8 — restore completes fully, success message shows, iPod reboots to Apple logo then immediately drops back into recovery mode. Loops every time.

- Tried restoring on Mac via Finder — restore froze completely for 5+ hours with zero progress.

Any ideas what's causing the restore loop or the Mac freeze. I suspect it is software issue rather than hardware, but otherwise am lost.

I recently got a lot of Apple iPods (3 of which are iPod touch 2nd Generation)

This one specifically is my weirdest case, No Water Damage, Cracks, or dents. Just a scuffed up 8GB iPod Touch 2nd Gen

The times I powered it up, it had a kernel panic. And with the last time I've done such, it now doesn't want to turn on anymore

iPod Touch 4th Generation: Why is screen on white?

Greetings everyone! Recently I found my old iPod Touch 4. After replacing the battery and turning it on, the screen began to light up white for 10 seconds and then go out (it happens after each press of the power button). Does anyone know what could be the problem?

I received a dead iPod. It had no HDD and a dead Chinese battery. When I received it, it showed a white screen for a couple of seconds and that was it. Now I installed a new 3000mAh battery and an SD card mod (256gb), but the screen still shows nothing but a white light for a couple of seconds.

Found an old iPod 5th gen. When I tried to replace the battery, the screen would flicker and make a somewhat of a sizzle / crackle sound and then eventually just stay white and I would notice the whole bottom portion of the logic board getting intensely hot. Any ideas what would be causing this? The board looks very clean, I can't seem to see anything that stands out that would be causing a short.

iPod Classic 7th Generation: Battery replacement still not working

I have an ipod classic 7th gen that has had a bad battery for years, haven't used it all for at least 10 years. I recently opened it and put a replacement battery in it. I plugged it in and it immediately turned on and quite quickly showed a full battery. Once unplugged it will immediately show that it needs to be plugged in. I thought maybe it was a dead replacement battery so I ordered another from a different vendor. Same issue with the second battery. I then tried taking the new battery out and plugged it in without any battery connected and had the same issue. Just wondering what could be causing it. When plugged into wall it works and looks fine. When plugged into a computer it said it's charging but after 24 hours still shows as dead after unplugged. Any help would be great.

iPod Nano 1st Generation: Factory Reset iPod and now it wants me to restore it.

Hi all, I restored my IPod Nano 1st gen on iTunes on my windows computer, upon doing so the ‘Do not Disconnect’ screen was continuously showing up I closed ITunes and it said it recognised an IPod in recovery mode, and it came up with the default name ‘IPod’ instead of the custom name. The screen was still showing ‘Do not Disconnect’ so after doing a bit of quick googling I did a hard reset which bought up the Apple logo. Then a screen came up saying I needed to restore it via iTunes. Will doing so factory reset it? As when I do it originally it seemed to not do it and now I’m stuck with basically a bric until I can find out exactly what to do.

I replaced the hard drive with The compact flash drive returned error 1413, then 1439. It then recovered, but when reconnecting to the computer, it returned the error. Now, when connecting, it returns a check mark.But the computer and iTunes It doesn't see it, I use a good adapter and a 64GB flash drive formatted fat32 , Also tried other types of formatting
