iPod Mini: Why doesn't my click wheel work after I changed the battery?

The new battery charged up fine and the display is fine, but nothing happens when I push the click wheel. When I reassembled after putting in the new battery, it did not seem as if the orange click wheel ribbon stuck back onto the logic board; I hoped the metal bracket would hold it down in the right way, but apparently not. Is this fixable? Thanks!

iPod Mini: iPod Mini Replacement Battery does not seem to be charging.

I replace ipod battery with the ipod mini replacement battery.

When i plugged in the ipod with the ubs cable to the pc the battery icon showed about 10% charged. I left the ipod plugged in over night. The battery icon still showed about 10% charged. The battery icon has not shown that it is charging. I have plugged the ipod into a docking station and there is no indication of it charging. I have also plugged the ipod into a wall connector. There still is no indication of it charging. I took the battery out and reinstalled it to be sure everything was seated. When I plug the ipod back into the ubs connection there is no indication that the battery is charging. I have noticed that after 2 or 3 minutes that the ipod is plugged in the screen goes off.

Do i have a bad battery or another problem.

Thank you

iPod Mini: Replacement battery never stops charging

I recently replaced a 2nd gen iPod Mini battery with an iFixit battery, which went well. However now when I charge the iPod it will never indicate full battery status and always shows the battery charge status at around two thirds charged. when charging it never seems to finish charging, even when left plugged in for 24hrs straight. Any ideas on what may be going on?

iPod Mini: Replacement battery does not fit.

I ordered a replacement battery from iFixIt, however, upon installing, I found the battery was not only more snug, but the cord comes out in such a spot where it becomes impossible to fit the ipod back in the case.

Update (06/21/2021)

With some extreme finessing of the wires and headphone board, along with a sketchy snip of the blue plastic wrap (the plastic wrap, not the cell) in the wire corner I was able to fit it in. Leaving this post up so anyone else with this issue can possibly get help from it.

iPod Mini: My iPod cannot detect being charged

I got myself an iPod Mini recently from eBay. Everything seemed to work OK, but then I decided to format the device, since well - I had to put my own music on it. Of course, iTunes asked me to download and upgrade to the 1.4.1 firmware - and I did.

The iPod got stuck at the firmware upgrade, and only shows up a picture of a power adapter being connected to a plug.

This is *not* a problem related with the chord or the adapter. I tried using a 12W adapter that I checked with an iPhone before testing it on the iPod. Yet it fails. I checked on Diagnostic mode, on the CHRGCUR option, and it does not detect being plugged on (shows up the "NO CHRG" value) - unless I set USBSUSP and CHGRSTN to 0 (I don't know what these values mean, though), showing up the desired "CHGRING" text. The value keeps at "NO CHGR" if disconnected or connected to a computer.

I thought about the chance of the battery being dead... but the "BATT A2D" menu seems to disagree. As I am writing this, it has a value of 649, and I think that's way too much for a broken battery.

I also have tried this trick, but it's completely useless.

Could anyone tell me how to fix this or, at the very least "fool" the device into thinking that it is being charged?
