iPod Touch 3rd Generation: iPod with water damage & white screen with no sound isues.

I know there are lots of water damage issues already, but my situation is specific.

The iPod was outside over night, in the cold wetness of a friend's driveway. At first it wouldn't even power on, but after a few weeks of sitting in rice, I've got it going. The sound works fine, and the screen is even registering my touch, but the white screen wont go away, although it has improved over time. Before it was streaky and I could see the water and bubbles inside it. Now there's only a small patch of pixelated streaks, and the corners are tinted yellow.

I'd like to know exactly what's wrong with it so I can have it repaired instead of buying a new iPod.

iPod Touch 3rd Generation: What contacts should I clean with ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL?

I will explain what happened with my iPod Touch 3rd Gen.

After one year of use, one day the screen got weird, with white and black strips and some other colors. The iPod did NOT fell into water, the problem started with no apparent reason.

I tried to restart and restore later with no positive results.

After two days I turned it on and, for my surprise, the LCD worked 100%, with no more strips on it, but the digitizer had stopped working...

After some days, I decided to order a new digitizer from eBay (actually I bought two).

When arrived, I used the iFixIt guide to open and replace the digitizer.

RESULT: the first and second digitizer did NOT work.

After read some articles and reviewing some related questions at iFixIt, I saw that some guys were trying to clean the contacts using ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL.

So, my great question is: What contacts should I clean with ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL? All of them?

Hope you guys can assist me on it.

With best regards,

Leonardo Ramos.

iPod Touch 3rd Generation: White screen sometimes and no wifi but able to connect bluetooth.

I have aa 3rd generation 8gb ipod touch. This device usually displays a white screen but from time to time works almost normally. When it is working almost normally, everything seems fine except wifi is grayed out. Also while wifi is grayed out bluetooth is functional. Restoring the ipod seemed to take care of white screen until I completely powered off ipod. The second time I restored the ipod touch the screen stayed white. Ever since second restore ipod has gone back and forth from white to partially working.

iPod Touch 3rd Generation: iPod Screen Will Not Turn on. Sleep/Wake button is Stuck

I have an Apple iPod 3rd Gen that has a stuck sleep/wake button on the top of the device. The button will not spring back and I know I will need to open up the iPod to take a closer look. The big problem at the moment is the screen has stopped turning on at all. I can connect the iPod to the PC and iTunes will be able to access the device and the music and the movies on it. What I would like to ask is do these symptoms sound like a screen issue or logic board issue? Not sure how to proceed.

iPod Touch 3rd Generation: "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod" error

I highly doubt this will actually have an answer because I’ve hardly had any luck with any forum but I’ll take my chances.

I have a 3rd gen iPod touch that I want to use just as a music player. It works perfectly fine. Unfortunately, when I plug it into my computer to sync the songs, iTunes gives the message you see in the title. My only options are to restore the thing or to eject it.

I've tried everything I found in guides - restart your computer, relaunch iTunes, etc (which were all useless, although not as useless as the ones that tell you to use some shoddy and shady unknown computer program to restore it as the final step). My iPod is not jailbroken and has no extra apps - bone stock with a rather empty iOS 5.1.1. The only file on it is a picture of Arisa Matsuda that I put as a joke.

Is this because I'm trying to sync with a computer running 10.13 High Sierra? Or is it something else?
