iPod Touch 4th Generation: iPod(4th) wont power on, will not charge, and not detected by iTunes.

I recently went to repair my girlfriends ipod screen which was broken. Bought a screen online on amazon, and replaced the screen and closed the phone back up.

Once turning on the phone, everything worked fine with the LCD, but sadly the touch screen was not working at all and not sensing my touch.

So, i figured there was a problem with the screen, sent the screen back in to amazon and said it was defective, and bought a new one...once I plugged in the new screen to the logic board, and tried powering the phone back on, nothing happened.

I then plugged the phone into the wall, and again, no power. (yes the charging cable is working as it works with my ipod.)

Plugged into my pc with iTunes up, and its not detected. (also tried 2 other computers and used my ipod with my current computer, so its cant be the pc)

I try seeing if putting the device in dfu mode does anything, still not detected.

Tried the home+power button for 30 seconds, also no response.

I read on here that a possible solution is to ground the positive battery terminal to the ground, so I detach the charging cable and re-open the phone and try this, and still no power or detection by itunes. I also read that it could be a trip in the logic board and all i would have to do is leave the ipod be for 3-4 days and let the battery completely drain before charging. I did this and nothing worked.

I am wondering if the problem is a messed up battery or logic board or something else. I checked all ribbon cable connections and all seem to be working properly. Currently i do not have a voltmeter to check the voltage on my battery, but would like to know if there is any other process i could do to narrow the problem down. If the problem is the battery, i do not have a soldering kit to repair it, so before buying a voltmeter, battery, or a soldering kit I would like to expend all other options.

Thanks for any help you can offer :)

iPod Touch 4th Generation: How to access data off iPod touch(4th) when it is completely dead

I have an Ipod Touch 4th Generation that cannot turn on whatsoever and is not sensed by my computer at all....I have already tried holding power and home buttons for 10 seconds and it is still not sensed. I have tried grounding the battery with no luck, not even a spark. The screen shows no signs of life and its basically a block of metal at this point.

I have given up on trying to fix it because I have went through 3 screens thinking it was that and still have not been able to get it to show any signs of life.

All I need to know is if there is a way to access the memory without the device being turned on or if I can remove the memory and attach it to a different device to access it.

I have many old photos on the device and I have not backed it up to anything, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

If there is a possible way of fixing it from its current condition, that would be even better, but I am just worried about the data on the device, not so much the device itself.

Thanks in advance

iPod Touch 4th Generation: I dropped my iPod Touch 4th Generation 32 GB on the floor.

I got a serious question...

Howmuch would it cost to get the glass on the iPod fixed/repaired? I accidentally dropped my iPod Touch 4th Generation 32 GB on a tile floor, making the glass break towards the point that it gets very disturbing while using the iPod. Any ideas on what I should do? Get new glass for it, and repair it myself? Or send it in to Apple?

Which is cheaper? Thanks!

iPod Touch 4th Generation: Which camera is bad? Or is it both?

I bought an iPod touch 4th Gen off of eBay that stated it had a non-functioning camera. I figured that I would test the cameras to determine which was bad. Here are my results. When entering the native camera app the shutter does not open and it does not give me an option to switch cameras. I installed "Fring" and performed test video call (to check the front camera). I hear my voice, but the video shows only blackness. Prior to doing both of these I reset the device through the settings menu (per an Apple forum post). Does anyone have a better way to determine what is wrong with this device? Other than the cameras it appears to work great! Thanks for any help!!

Chuck

Edit **I just put the iPod into recovery mode and re installed the OS. Afterwards I did a Fring test call and saw myself in the little window. The image was distorted by lines and was off color. Then it went black, and has not come back since. The shutter still doesn't work on the main camera.

iPod Touch 4th Generation: iPod Touch 4th gen white screen when restoring

My friend gave me an iPod touch for free. When I power it on, it fails to boot into iOS and boots straight into Recovery Mode. I tried to flash/restore it using other cables, other computers, and other software's (iTunes, 3uTools, etc.). And I keep running into the same problem. It boots into RestoreOS, but a few seconds after the progress bar appears, there is a white screen and it restarts back into recovery mode. And I either get error 9, 1611, or 4013. I have also tried to boot into DFU mode, but it is "impossible" to do so. It just boots into recovery mode. I (and my friend) am/are not aware of the iOS version the iPod originally ran. I am not familiar with Apple devices. Does anyone know how to solve this issue?
