iPod Touch 5th Generation: Can modify it to upgrade the memory of this device?

Hello there,

I was wondering myself if it is possible to upgrade an iPod Touch (no camera) 16gb flash memory.

Because it has free space inside released from the camera and other components I thouhgt it would be cool to install it a new flash drive and bypass it with the memory it already has.

The idea is to buy the same flash memory (Toshiba THGBX2G7B2JLA01).

If possible I would like to upgrade it to at least 128GB (Two modules of 64gb that is).

So please, someone expert enough could answer me. Is this possible? Even if I have to Jailbreak it or something.

I just want a high capacity iPod Touch. Is it possible?

iPod Touch 5th Generation: gray "dead zones" after replacing screen

My iPod touch suffered a cracked screen, which I replaced thanks to the help this site provided. However, there seems to be an issue. If I open any app, I can see a series of small rectangular semi-translucent gray boxes on the screen, in something of a T formation across the width at the top, and along the length down the center. I have further discovered that these seem to be dead zones as far as touch controls are concerned, even though the display is showing.

Any thoughts as to what might be going on?

iPod Touch 5th Generation: Can I fix this?

I have 2 iPod Touch 5th Generations.

One without the back camera that is currently a miracle. It's casing is bent from being in my front pocket on a roller-coaster and it's screen is cracked from multiple drops and missing bits and pieces. I have no idea how well the battery is working.

The other one has the back camera. The screen is missing a V or check-mark shape piece and the battery doesn't seem to last even 5-10 minutes.

If I can find the second one, which is unlikely since it belongs to my partner who thinks he's thrown it out without factory resetting it...

I would like to know if it is possible to fix the screen and replace the battery.

I know the 5th generation iPod has a repair score of 3/10. I just don't see a clear article on fixing either the screen or on replacing the battery.

If I can't fix it myself, I did have a recent offer of $100 for both screen and battery total. That said, I have to find it first.

iPod Touch 5th Generation: iPod Won't Turn on

My son has an iPod and it recently stopped accepting a charge. I've taken apart many devices before but wasn't sure where to start with figuring out what is wrong with this one. I figured taking it apart and putting it back together would be a good start (especially since he is a young kid and has likely dropped it a few times). Any suggestions or guides for how to diagnose?

iPod Touch 5th Generation: LCD not lighting after screen replacement!

Hi,

I bought an iPod touch from eBay without a screen. I separately bought a screen for it and installed it according to professional instructions. I tried to power it up, but no apple logo showed. About 2 min later I pressed the home button and to my surprise siri worked. With a flashlight I noticed the display was working (very dim light) and I could open apps, slide to unlock, etc. However, the display is completely black. I assumed the lcd might not be connected, but even after connecting and reconnecting cables the backlight still doesn't work.

My question is whether this is a screen issue or an iPod hardware issue. The screen and iPod connectors both look perfect in condition.

Any help appreciated!!

Thanks

iPod Touch 5th Generation: Can I swap an iPod touch 6's casing on a touch 5?

After cutting my hand open trying to take the "iPod loop" off my old casing(my replacement that I bought in China didn't come with one somehow) I now decided I hate that thing and was just wondering whether I can just slap an iPod touch 6's casing on a touch 5 and call it a day.
iPod Touch 5th Generation: Forgot the apple id, password, and related email. How to reset iPod?

My 7yr old niece got an ipod for her birthday last year. She somehow created an icloud account but then completely forgot it, the password and the email address she associated the account with. I’ve been trying to look for the receipt but so far I haven’t been able to find it. I called apple support and they advised that the only only ways to reset the icloud account is by either providing them with the icloud account address or proof of purchase.

Is there any way to remove the existing icloud account when the icloud information isn’t known? I’ve tried restoring the ipod with itunes but the previous account comes back up and asks for the password.
