was this running windows 8.1 or windows 10 I know a lot of people were having an issue after installing windows 10. if this is the case you would need to download the chipset drivers for windows 10 wifi nic card from asus support website. before you state that you cannot connect to the internet and download these on the laptop you will need to download them from a working computer and save them to a thumb drive or micro sd card and insert that to the laptop and install from that drive.
