Hi I'm sorry I can't be of much help.. But I can only tell you what's happened to my Sony bravia TV.. Like you Sony said not interested mine was only 14 month old.. when I asked for help.. which as you say is a disgrace as loads of people have had this same problem.. I am in the process of writing to the manager to complain, then poss to watchdog…the 1st time it went off I tried the rebooting and reset but nothing.. So I put it in the guest room as that's not used very much after three weeks I was about to take it to the skip.. I thought I would try it before it went just in case.. It decided to work so back into the sitting room, after 6 weeks same again happened.. Back into bedroom.. Tried it every day nothing.. Was about to skip it.. Then after 4 weeks it came back on again.. Then back in sitting room.. After a month once again blank screen no sound.. Back into the bedroom.. Tried it every day for four weeks.. But nothing By now I was so fed up I bought a new TV for my sitting room. Not a Sony.. I. Left the bravia for 3 weeks.. Was going to skip It but once again.. It decided to work and is still working in the bedroom it's been in there for 4 month now I use it occasionally only say 3 time a week for a few hours which is rediculas.. The only thing I can think of is that it maybe over heats something in it or the something wrong with its technical bits and pieces (sorry but I'm not up on the jargon) either that or it doesn't like been threatened with the skip. I don't see why we should have to pay for parts to get out tvs working when it's obviously a manufacturing fault..
