The speakers can definitely be replaced and it is fairly easy to do it too. Before you replace the speakers you need to make sure they are the right model before you purchase a new bar. There are a total of 8 screws you have to deal with. Six are right below the battery and once all six silver screws are removed you can take off the [http://www.365laptoprepair.com/ebay_images/1542_HP-Pavilion-dv6000-Power-Button-Cover-Panel-431422-001-Read_1.JPG|function switch cover]. There are clips lining the back of it and two in the front where it connects to the palm rest. Lift from the side back of the cover and pull it forward. Make sure not to rip it off as there are 2 cables connected to this part. Once its out you can see the speakers. There should be 2 screw connecting the speakers to the casing. Once removed you can take the speakers out and there should be a model number on them. It will look something like 431447-001. Once you get that model number just order the speakers and pop them in and you should be good to go. Parts like that do not go bad too often and are fairly cheap to purchase so Ebay is a good place to check out for replacements.
