PSVita Slim Screen Super Dim, Even After Replacement!

My sons PSVita Slim suddenly had a blank screen, seemed to turn on fine, no blue lights, blinking lights, etc. We noticed if you shined a flashlight at the screen you could barely make out that it was on. I installed a new screen and the same think is happening. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
