@mayer - As far as I know none of the current WD drives offer SATA II support (2.5” or 3.5”).

Samsung is the only SSD that states it SATA II support as far as I know [https://s3.ap-northeast-2.amazonaws.com/global.semi.static/Samsung_SSD_860_EVO_Data_Sheet_Rev1.pdf|Samsung 860 EVO]

For HDD’s at this time only the Seagate 3.5” FireCuda and Barracuda offer SATA II support. Both the current 2.5” Seagate drives are SATA III only
