,my mac mini is mini display port so i buy a mini dp to DVI adapter

,the display has own power supply and power is on,I can see the display led button is lighting,but hit mac mini power button,the display screen is black,I can sure the display is work because when i buy it,the owner let me see is working,but i don't know why there is no signal,is there any problem about the mini dp to dvi adapter,or this display need special adapter,thanks a lot
