what works for me 1) lie the unit face down (i.e speaker grille on the table) ) connect unit to laptop/pc via usb charging cable 3) open this page  https://btu.bose.com/?p=-1#section=device  and the device starts charging !

note : if i dont visit that page it doesnt always work
