May be uninstall the USB drivers, run a cleaning utility like Advanced System Care, Ccleaner, etc. reboot and reinstall drivers if Windows doesn’t automatically do so.
How is it now?
I can’t remember off hand where the settings are for the USB ports but just cruise through the BIOS/UEFI advanced screen.

You tested all the USB devices on your laptop, right?
LED’s turning on just means the ports are getting power.
First of all update your BIOS, if you haven’t done this already.
Make sure the latest drivers are installed from the ASUS web site and don’t forget latest chipset driver from AMD:
