The hinges on my laptop broke and the power switch kind of blocked when the lid was in a certain angle so I decided to disassemble the device, clean out the broken pieces of plastic, glue the hinges onto the lower part of the shell (could not screw them back in place, too much plastic was broken) and put it back together. Everything seemed to work out fine but now it does not boot any more: no screen light, no fans, no beeps, nothing.[br]

Everything seemed to work out fine but now it does not boot any more: no screen light, no fans, no beeps, nothing.[br]

I disassembled it again and removed some cables (screen, antenna, speaker, drive) but to no avail. I’m pretty hopeless at this point. But what did I do wrong? Could I have scratched to board that hard? Did I create a short circuit somehow? Can my greasy fingers ruin something? I was SO close to fixing this thing…
