Hi,

Try shining a torch at an angle close to the screen and check for images when the tablet is on. They will be very faint if they are there so trying in a darkened room may help to see them.

This is just to verify that it is only a backlight problem.

If there are images then here’s the relevant troubleshooting section from the SM-T580 [https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1741493/Samsung-Sm-T580.html?page=61#manual|service manual] that may help.

Also check that the LCD cable board connector pins aren’t damaged or bent etc.
