I believe you can use a better WiFi card in these older Mac Pro’s!
I believe it’s just the case of removing the ram/processor tray at the bottom then following this amazing guide linked below to connect it up correctly
Unfortunately I haven’t really heard of many (possibly any)people using external WiFi antennas on their Mac Pro’s as most people tend to go for wired Ethernet after considering a WiFi card upgrade on a Mac Pro as macs already have very good WiFi cards so if it’s speed your after you might want to look into that instead is it might even work out better
