A lot of these Samsung TVs were notorious for bad solder joints.  I'll work on my sister's Samsung TV soon, and post a repair guide.  Meanwhile, you should open up the TV and carefully inspect for bad (cracked or discolored) solder joints, paying special attention to the transformer on the main logic board.  If you find any bad joints, touch them up with a little solder and a 35 watt soldering iron and you might be good to go.
