@brododragon You could try and see if it will work. The lock is what a. secures the cables and b. puts pressure on the top pins to connect to the cable. Without the lock, your connector may not make proper contact with the cable. Worst case scenario is to purchase a broken board from place like ebay etc. and then harvest the connector from that one. Of course, the will require some good soldering skills as well as having to have the proper tools.
