You will probably need a whole new DVD drive

Be careful with this, the 360 drives were keyed to each motherboard, thus i neededyou need to solder the old board in the new drive, so it may have that issue for you, don't know about a 360 S yet, i may test this on a 360S if i get a dead one given to me and reflow and use a unmodified DVD drive, see if sees the drive

You should try the laser first, so you can try and get it working without soldering the old board in the new drive

I would strongly recommend swapping controller boards so you don't get banned from xbox live and it sees the drive is different from what is coded in the firmware
