Home Button Not Responding

Hi, I’m currently trying to fix an Xbox series X controller and I determine the issue is that the home button isn’t responsive I tried cleaning it taking it apart and cleaning it and when I try to put in batteries and hit the home button. It won’t turn on but if I connect it with a USB wire, it will turn on, but I cannot use the home button still , any solutions?
