I'm having the same problem.

About 5 years old Sony Xperia 1 all of the sudden lost sim card. Tried with two different (and functioning) cards without result. Also tried software repair with Sony Companion, no difference what so ever.

In repair they said nothing can be done, except changing the motherboard which costs a boatload of money.

I guess I'll open it up and check if there is any faulty solderings
