help with damaged IC identification
Hi there,
a friend asked me to take a look at his laptop as it was out of warranty. it got some liquid damage. when i popped open the unit it had some corrosion and residue which all cleaned up nicely using alcohol and a hog hair brush.
i found a damaged component. from tracing the components it looks like it is in the power section.
it’s a 13.3 MacBook unibody logic board.
First picture is the top right section as the bottom of the notebook is open, bat and hd bay towards user.

this is the regulator/fet/? Ic in question. Top numbers are 1127 (8G4 55A2, lot and date numbers?)

any help on this one would be great! i can't seem to find any schematics anywhere, which i find odd for older electronics.....
Thanks,
-Chris

Hi Sir, were you able to resolve the problem by some cleaning/servicing, or did you need to replace the IC? Or was there any other solution? Thanks
