i ripped the power flex replacing my ipad 2 screen so i replaced it with a new one
now testing my ipad i notice all the button are responsive except the power button the only time it seem to respond is when i hold the power button down to turn off the device ,the power button does not let me turn on or off the screen.

Hi,
There are 2 options:
1st-You didnt connect good the replaced pwr button flex cable
2nd-May be you damaged this lcd board on the ipad right upper corner:

or just a bad cable, what happens a lot. So try to get another and replace it.
What you could do is jailbreak your device and use activator to lock your screen.

Yes ,activator is also solution but after some time it sucks.

hi there, i'm having the same issue... replaced screen and power/volume flex all buttons work fine, exept the powerbutton, works only when you turn the divice on or off, screenlock doesn't work even assistif touch doesn't work to lock the screen... the only possibility in my case would be the lcd board i think... I did not really toucht the lcd board because im really carefull with it butt is it possible to damage it when cutting the sticker that holds the connection from the power/volume flex ?

Hi:
i have a problem whit the same flex but..now volumen boton´s dont work and keep showin the volumen icon on the screen and cant use it....i tryed whit alot of new flex and the same result..i did try to take out the flex and leave it whit out flex but..when i do that the ipad wont gave image(like LCD problem)
can some one help me or there´s some one whit the same issue?

I am having this exact same issue with an iPad 2. Tomorrow morning I am going to try a new cable to see if that fixes it.
