front facing camera and proximity sensor

Can the front facing camera be removed from a non working proximity sensor to a new one? Or does this part have to be purchased as one unit?

I have an iPhone 5 that the proximity sensor cable is torn and has to be replaced. I ordered the part but did not get the one that has the front facing camera already attached to it so I need to move the camera to the new proximity sensor cable. How do I do this or is it even possible.

Also on the new proximity sensor cable there are gold contact points at the opposite end from where the speaker connects. What are these for and where to they contact to?
