My netbook won't boot up what can I do to fix it?

I have an asus Eee Pc 1005HAB Netbook and as soon as i turn it on it says " Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key". Why is it saying this and what do i need to do to fix it so i can use it again?

hi,

Sounds like its not finding the HD (harddrive) to boot from.

During the post (startup) when you see a lot of white text on the black background can you see on the screen if the Eee can see the HD.

These can boot from a USB drvice, have you anything plugged in to the USB?

Have you changed the boot order?

Do you have a USB DVD/CD reader?

I'm having the same problem with my acer netbook, I might have changed some things with out knowing what I was doing.

Is there a way to restore my netbook without it costing an arm and a leg.
