new battery not charging
Which side of the battery is up? red wire on left or right while soldering it to the board?

Ted Platt, I guess we are a bit confused ;-) Anyhow, if you look head-on at your logic board, with the connectors in the northern direction (up) then the positive is to the starboard (right) side and subsequently the negative is the port (left) side. R=Red=Right :-) Amazingly enough you have white wire, it should actually be black, but it happens. check with a multimeter to see if the red and white are positive and negative polarity.
