screen seems to have dimmed

Hi all,

I am using an Asus G73jh laptop. I was editing a document in word but when wanting to save it, I couldn't. Suddenly I also couldn't select text anymore. The laptop started acting strange so I decided to restart it. After rebooting, it seemed to be working ok again except the screen seems to be dimmer than it normally is. I checked the brightness level and it is at full brightness. I even checked that the brightness could still be adjusted and it could, just not as bright as it should be. Has anyone ever had this problem? I can still use the laptop but it's as if it's in battery saver mode, yet it isn't.

Could there be a problem with the backlighting?
