Can I upgrade to 4GB?
Have a 2006 A1176 U35(last 3) Macmini1,1. I saw this answer in one of the past questions: "Officially this only supports 2GB of memory. However, the ability for this particular machine to handle 4GB of memory is well documented."
It was a different model. Does this apply to mine also?
crucial.com only shows a 2GB kit (1GB x2).
Thanks in advance.

The statement in quotes was made in March 2012 by ABCellars and confirmed by mayer, regarding a 2007 Model Mac Mini. Mine is 2006 and I was hoping either they or someone knew for sure if it can possibly apply to my model since it's just a year earlier.

You have to upgrade the EFI from 1,1 to 2,1. AFTER that, you can install 2 2gb modules. If you do not have 2,1, it will not work. Download 2 files to put in, run the commands, and it should work after a reboot and some interesting screen artifacts. Put in an SSD, and a core 2 duo, and these things really speed up!

Bwilding2000 is correct, but the memory controller can only access slightly more than 3Gb of RAM. So compare you mileage of 3Gb (2+1) or 4Gb(2+2) sticks of RAM.
