I want to buy an ATI Radeon HD 2400XT (mid 2007 20" model) video card to replace my failing ATI Radeon HD 2600Pro in early 2008 24" model. Does anyone know if this card (ATI Radeon HD 2400XT ) is compatible with early 2008 24" model?

gbuyer, does not look like they are compatible. The iMac (24-inch Early 2008) uses either a MXM III, M76XT+/256MB GDDR3 part number 661-4663 or a MXM III, G92GT+/512MB GDDR3 (CTO) part number 661-4664. The compatibility for those cards is with":
iMac 24" 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo (A1225) - Mid 2008
iMac 24" 3.06GHz Core 2 Duo (A1225) - Mid 2008
only.
Now for the one you are looking at, the Video Card for the mid 2007 20" model is either part number 661-4436. Compatibility is:
iMac 20" 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo (A1224) - Mid 2007
iMac 20" 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo (A1224) - Mid 2007
iMac 20" 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo (A1224) - Mid 2008
iMac 20" 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo (A1224) - Mid 2008
or it uses part number 661-4440, which is compatible with :
iMac 20" 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo (A1224) - Mid 2007
iMac 20" 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo (A1224) - Mid 2007
iMac 20" 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo (A1224) - Mid 2008
iMac 20" 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo (A1224) - Mid 2008

A wiki article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMac_%28Int...) shows 20" imac can use ATI 2600Pro as an upgrade. And, mine has an ATI 2600Pro, so I thought ATI 2400XT can be used in 24" model. Thanks!
